  1. Shaloub isn't the problem; the new sidekick is. I kept hoping she'd get killed off, too. Not good, Neifi. Sweet, the Chiefs game is starting. Agreed. Sharona > Natalie. Still better than practically everything else on TV though. (ie Cubs games)
  2. Monk marathon on USA network. This team is crap. Whoa, got any good MadTV episodes to recommend, too? You take your Tony Shaloub bashing elsewhere.
  3. kerry's probably not listening to stone's advise that's why he sucks today
  4. Monk marathon on USA network. This team is crap.
  5. I don't know, I'm pretty suspicious of someone who, at age 31, out of nowhere starts posting abnormal numbers. Delluci has posted substandard numbers the past few seasons for a corner outfielder. I think Dellucci is having a fluke season, and I don't want any part of him or his steep 2nd half decline (which is very possible). A good thing about Dellucci is that he is posting better numbers away from Arlington than he is at Arlington. But I'm still not sold on him, and I don't think CPatt posting better 2nd half numbers than Dellucci is entirely out of the question. Soriano...no thanks. All he does is worsen our OBP problem. And his numbers away from Arlington this season and last are frighteningly horrific. No thanks is what I say.
  6. Yeah. Carlos just happened to have the hottest streak of his career on the biggest stage. He is good, but very overrated, and not nearly worth the contract he got. As for the ASG, the NL outfield should have been Abreu/Jones/Cabrera or Lee. No way does Edmonds belong in the game. In fact I could list 10 outfielder more worthy, based on this year. I have to say Eckstein deserves to be ther more than Izturis, who has gone in the tank after his hot start. I don't have a problem with Edmonds being a reserve, but a starter? C'mon! At least the AL fans got their voting right! Rolen has no business even being on the roster. Both Ensberg & Ramirez should be there. Eckstein as SS,Pujols as DH, Carpenter & Isringhausen as reserve pitchers I have no problem with. All 4 of thses guys have earned these spots. It appears a lot of anti-Cardinals bias is showing. Among NL outfielders, Jim Edmonds is #5 in OPS. So, I'm interested in the 10 other outfielders who are more worthy than Edmonds this season. Sure, Andruw Jones probably should have started in centerfield, but it's not this huge injustice that people are making it out to be. The difference between Edmonds' OPS and Abreu's OPS is only .28 points. The difference between Aramis' OPS and Ensberg's OPS is .53 points. But I highly doubt people would be outraged if, hypothetically, Aramis Ramirez was starting at 3B over Morgan Ensberg this season.
  7. hahahaha why am i going to watch this game?
  8. Because if we're comparing Len to Chip, there is no comparison to speak of. I think someone in this thread was talking about how Stoney had these huge balls and wasn't afraid to criticize any player (probably not in those words), while Len and Bob do nothing but tow the company line and never criticze players.
  9. Dusty Baker LIVED the game too. Better not question his baseball acumen then. Just because someone played baseball doesn't mean they're more knowledgable about the sport. You can't tell me that John Kruk knows more about the game then say, Bill James. Stone was a fine color man. But I can't say I enjoy Cubs broadcast less because he's gone. Kasper and Brenly do a fine job, and frankly I don't miss Stone all that much. Though I admit a Stone/Kasper booth has interesting possibilities.
  10. awesome work cubs i officially hate you now
  11. then the run would have scored anyways and cubs lose
  12. frank robinson must not be a very good manager, what a horrible idea
  13. if corey wasn't so selfish he'd learn how to run faster come on corey do what's best for your team
  14. I'd venture to guess that Len Kasper knows more about baseball stastically than everyone's favorite Steve Stone. And what's this nonsense about Stone not afraid of being critical of the team, while Brenly and Len aren't. Whenever a Cubs player makes a mistake, I see Len and Brenly point it out. I've never heard Brenly say "Hairston got caught in the rundown...but it wasn't his fault!" Same exact thing with Stoney. He pointed out mistakes when they were made, he's no different than any other announcer in baseball. The difference is, Stone made things personal. I guess that's your perogative if you want to think less of Brenly because he doesn't carry over personal feuds into the booth, that's your choice. But Stone did make snide, personal remarks about players, and took things way too personally. What he did was beyond criticizing players.
  15. So that doesn't mean he is better then Abreu now which was my point and there is no way Dunn is better right now. If you are trying to figure out a potential trade target, age is definately a factor. Dunn can certainly help the team this year but he can also improve for many more years if he is signed long term. He will probably be playing the game a lot longer than Abreu since there is a 6 year difference in age. miguel cabrera is younger Good idea. I have a trade proposal!!! rusch, mitre, welly, ice, koronka, piggy, pinto, wells, mathes, sing, dope, theroit, murton, dubois, patterson, 3 PTBNL, and 15 mil in cash for cabrera, pierre, and burnett not saying i'd do that trade, but i'd give up A LOT for miggy
  16. IT'S BEAUTIFUL http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/rocketsaucetd/91604CubsatReds001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/rocketsaucetd/91604CubsatReds002.jpg gratuitous dunn butt shot http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/rocketsaucetd/Cubs%20at%20Reds/041805CubsatReds030.jpg
  17. He'll keep hitting Burnitz cleanup from time to time, and that is a no-no in my book. Not that I'm in favor of putting Burnitz cleanup...but him being in the 4 spot isn't even near the top of the list of why the Cubs are underperforming.
  18. So that doesn't mean he is better then Abreu now which was my point and there is no way Dunn is better right now. But I don't understand why you're bringing it up. Yeah, Abreu is better than Dunn. Miguel Tejada is better than Neifi Perez. How is this relevent, I don't know. But it's true!
  19. probably start complaining about next season (that's what red sox fans did)
  20. rocket

    hey guys

i'm in last place to stay me = :(
  21. I hate everything about the Nationals. From the city, the colors, the name, the logo. You name it, I hate it. I was indifferent about the Expos.
  22. No he's not. Andruw jones is. Andruw Jones isn't American. He was born in Curacao.
