  1. i hope the reds aren't that dumb
  2. i guess i'd rather trade a bullpen arm for a bullpen arm rather than ridiculously overspend for one.

  4. once again jim insanely overpays for a market that isn't even there
  5. if the cubs really are commited to winning then send sweet lou himself to convince burrell the cubs will contend, then maybe he'll waive his ntc to come to the cubs
  6. so essentially hendry signed a backup catcher to the same contract that he signed todd walker to a couple years ago. dumb move. soto is ready.
  7. hahahahaha, same old hendry. nothing's changed. what a pointless signing.
  8. What? Craig Wilson? The same Craig Wilson that sat on the Yankee bench at the end of the season? Wilson's 06 numbers: AVG .251 | HR 17 | RBI 49 | OBP .314 | SLG .446 jackassical. throw away six years of outstanding stick work because of 100 abs after becoming a Yankee. I still don't think we are talking about the same Craig Wilson, perhaps you know of one that I am not aware of. 2001 .310 in 88 games 2002 .264 in 131 games 2003 .262 in 116 games 2004 .264 in 155 games 2005 .264 in 59 games 2006 .212 in 40 games (yankees) 2006 .267 in 85 games (pirates) So to summarize, his highest average is in 1/2 a season. Overall career numbers total ... .265 Not sure I would call that "outstanding stick work" because we all know that batting average alone is a great way to judge a hitter
  9. holy carp. burrell for benitez? what could we get for dempster if that's true? DEMPSTER + JONES FOR BURRELL PLEASE.
  10. I was just about to ask that. I remember a bunch of people saying his defensive negatives outweigh potential offensive positives. i agree there were people against trading for soriano, but i assure you that wasn't a reason.
  11. the fact that it wasn't worth giving up prospects/established players for him at the time. now he doesn't cost us players, and the nl is so weak that now is the time to go for it all. soriano's 30+ homeruns and 500+ slugging percentage will help reach that goal this year. we'd probably regret signing him 2-3 years into the contract, but the cubs offense need to significantly improve, and it needs to improve right now. soriano is an improvement.
  12. if ball state can put up 26 on them i think osu can easily put up 38. osu wins 27-13. and for the millionth time, "o$u" is incredibly lame.
  13. but not until you make a great run at jd drew, jimmy. well it's assuming the red sox acquire jd drew that we go after coco crisp. if they don't get drew they probably won't trade crisp.
  14. i'd be very in favor of bringing in coco crisp for centerfield. buy low, hendry
  15. yes, he's doing good so far. but he's got a long way to go to convert this to even a .500 team.
  16. 200+ receiving yards and a whole quarter to go
  17. he's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack
  18. i guarantee rich aurlia is our 3rd baseman next year
  19. If the deadline is Wednesday why are they going to announce it tonight? Unless I missed the post saying they would
  20. I have a hard time buying Michigan as the consensus #2, especially if OSU handles them. eh, their only loss would be to the #1 team in the country.
  21. it's pretty obvious the 2 best teams in the country are osu and michigan, so the national title game should essentially just be a rematch of next week's game.
