  21. it's one of those spring training issues that once april comes along, everyone forgets
  22. I'm very much against using limited spring training at-bats as a deciding factor in who gets the starting job.

  24. that wasn't his point. his point is that the cubs organization chose the "proven" whose best-case-scenario statistics are mediocre, over the younger player who could potentially give you great play at a fraction of the cost. proven mediocrity is still mediocrity. the cubs have a history of giving mediocre players a chance over someone who could be good.
