it is his fault he didn't do well the first half in the majors. but the point is, his 12 games started after the all-star break were phenomenal, and that alone should guarantee him a spot in this year's rotation. his last 12 starts last season made him earn that spot a lot more than 3-4 starts in spring training. it's absurd not to guarantee hill a spot in the rotation.

Way to take well thgouht out and nuanced opinions and reduce them to their lowest common denominator. its what i do. Seriously though it does seem strange how fast you guys are abandoning Zambrano. It doesn't seem like that to you? they're 2 completely different situations. when kerry wood was going to be re-signed a few years ago, it was understood it would be around a 3 year deal. no one dreamed of a 6-7 year deal. if zambrano was asking for a 3 year deal, probably no one here at all would advocate trading him, they'd want that deal done asap. but there's a huge difference between a 3 year deal and a 7 year deal. i don't think the situations are comparable.

Why is Z automatically the bad guy? Why not look at it from the perspective of Carlos Zambrano has given the Cubs 3 very good seasons, why can't the Cubs reward him with the contract that he wants? Z has been very good for the Cubs, why should he give them a reduced price? Shouldn't the Cubs do the honorable thing and pay him what the market dictates? You say Z is being greedy.
