when i go i usually stay at a hotel by o'hare. you get a free shuttle to the el. i didn't mind the commute because i always get to wrigley super early to hang out in the neighborhood, and i'm never in a rush to leave wrigleyville after the game ends, so the commute isn't that much of a pain for me.
