  1. haha, i got suspicious when imb was saying gordon wittenmeyer got the scoop.
  2. The Cubs still wouldn't have a leadoff hitter. what are you talking about he plays centerfield.
  3. blizzau and warpticon aren't caught up in their firejoemorgan.com reading.
  4. If I'm not mistaken, everyone hates Theriot anyway and nobody was fond of Soriano batting 2nd. yeah. and if we used your lineup this game, we still would have lost. the cubs didn't lose because of the lineup, they lost because they couldn't get a hit for the 1st 8 innings. I didn't see we lost because of the lineup, but obviously Theriot can't leadoff and Soriano can't mentally (not to mention he shouldn't anyway) bat 2nd. soriano would be fine hitting 2nd all year. Except he'd get a lot less RBIs then he should. probably because theriot is leading off.

  7. cubs fans are at their whiniest the season after a playoff run. this'll be a good one!
  8. lol. change the lineup after every loss because it didn't work the previous game. sure.
  9. agree, bury riot in the 7-9 spots and im cool with him...but leadoff? not so much, but seriously, i'd love to hear a viable plan to get a better hitting SS...i just dont see it happening w/o giving up the farm felipe lopez could be had without giving up the farm.
  10. he still hasn't blown a save
  11. Didn't look like anybody was playing except for Fuku and Zambrano. marmol?
  12. that was pretty sweet.
  13. that's either a tiny bat or ernie has some giant paws
  14. lol here i go again getting excited for cubs baseball
  15. i know it betrays my sabremetrics love, but the cubs simply don't make the playoffs for 2 years in a row. it just doesn't happen.
  16. i think what you saw last year is derrek lee from now on. i'll be happy with a .400 obp and 20 or so homers. i'm not expecting any better than that.
  17. i don't think anyone but cubs fans really think about him anymore.
  18. 205. Ryan "Donnie" Garko 206. Ubaldo Jimenez 207. Nate McLouth 208. Jose Guillen 209. Whoever the hell earth2sean picked 210. Jason Isringhausen 211. Kevin Gregg 212. Troy Percival 213. Tom Gorzelanny
  19. that's often what happens with new stadiums. extort the city into paying for it, then fall into mediocrity (see: Pittsburgh, Cincy, Seattle, San Francisco, Houston....) St. Louis, San Francisco, and Houston all have hosted World Series games. yes, but the new ballparks were built under the guise of "we can't maintain sustained success without a new park." but imagine if the pirates didn't have a really nice park? how many people would go out and see them lose 90 games a year in toilet known as three rivers stadium? they'd probably be out of business by now. i don't think people go to the stadium now even with a really nice park.
  20. the most hated cub that i've seen actually play has to be julian taverez.
  21. someone start a petition for an aluminum bat home run derby.
  22. Obviously. He's the starting SS for the Chicago Cubs. Not based on statistical evidence. is theriot likely to be better than a player who in their 22 year old season put up a line of .273/.300/.386 in approximately 700 at bats?
  23. Hey, why don't I just go and eat some hay. I can lay by the bay, make things out of clay, I just may, whadaya say? shut your fay-ce.
  24. a .325 obp is in no way all right, it's horrible. it'd be slightly less horrible if the guy with the .325 obp hit a ton of home runs or something, but theriot doesn't do that. he's not a very good baseball player. cedeno probably isn't either, but he's more likely to be good than theriot.
