  1. Because Z was running? and any runner would have hustled to try and beat the double play. Now we're catching on! So hustling does help a team win. it doesn't hurt. now, getting on base, hitting home runs, pitching well, and playing good defense helps a team win about 5 million times more. i'll take a slow runner who gets on base and hits home runs over a hustler who sucks at getting on base and doesn't hit for power any day of the week. but you're right. hustling CAN help a team win. but it's about 10th on the list of things that help a team win.
  2. Yes. That's how he has gotten injured in the past. We are trying to stay healthy here. brb i have to pick up the pieces of brain matter on the floor because my head just exploded

  4. I never said that he should have tried to stretch it into a triple. well, then you're complaining about him loafing when he wasn't. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2008_04_15_cinmlb_chnmlb_1&mode=gameday go to the 7th inning of the play by play, and click the play button next to aramis ramirez's double. then tell me he loafed.
  5. ok, seriously wilson. do you really want a slow running player to try to stretch an easy double into a triple when the ball is hit to LEFT FIELD? when aramis would have been thrown out at 3rd, you'd be the first one complaining about how aramis is a bonehead on the base paths. there's no reason at all aramis should have tried to stretch that into a triple. he'd have been out by a mile. he did nothing wrong. i've watched the replay like 10 times now. he didn't jog out of the box. he might have hesitated for a split second before running, but he's running full blast when he starts.
  6. How'd the Cubs win Sunday? an error? Caused by...you are so close! a bad throw by utley?
  7. He's only out for himself, just like he always was. All he ever cared about was winning - winning - winning. A real LOSER off-the-field too. No wonder he's headed for a second DIVORCE. LOUSY family man. The all-star team does not make you a good person. He let it go to his head. I hope to GOD he never ever plays for the CUBS. I'll become a Whie Sox fan. IT'S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT BUT IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE!!!!
  8. f all ya'll. to me, baseball died when the batter could no longer tell the pitcher where he wanted the ball to be pitched.
  9. no. ward is an awesome bench player. as an everday starter (in left field no less), he'd be brutal. remember todd hollandsworth?
  10. i hate him.
  11. Oh My lord. I hate injuries so much. I hate this even more because I bet Theriot leads off. Ugh. IT'S OK THERIOT HAS TURNED THE CORNER AND IS NOW AWESOME
  12. Yep. He is so overmatched at the plate it's comical at times. The question now is do you keep him with the big league team and give him a start every 10 games or so and let him be a late inning defensive replacement or send him down and let him work on shortening his swing? I know, I know...he crushes AAA pitching and has nothing more to prove. Clearly he does have more to prove because nothing he did down there is translating here and now. i know he's been bad. but can you really give up on him 2 weeks into the season? if he's struggling like this in june, then i'd look for some other solutions.
  13. is this a joke or no? serious. if we could cut him we would be better off. if we could cut him and get the money back, then yes we'd be better off. cutting him for the sake of cutting him is a horrible idea.
  14. haha. marty brenneman and jeff brantley acted disgusted when corey patterson was booed when he came to the plate.
  15. Hahaha you mean silver slugger award winning ryan theriot? (assuming every other game the rest of the season is a carbon copy of today's)
  16. Thats not fair, he's one of my all time favs, on the Reds or not. so? i'm sure hitler was someone's favorite world leader of all time but i still hate him.
  17. i hope griffey dies stuck on homer # 599
  18. methinks the reds are gonna blow us out today
  19. losing soriano for a significant amount of time makes us worse. come on.
  20. that's harsh. i just hope he's crippled for life.
