    In fairness, anybody they call up from their system is probably going to be even more awful. I would bet Beliveau could do a much better job than Grabow at the back of the pen right now.

    Looks like Harman got hauled up to Daytona. Good to see - it was more than time and he didnt have much left to prove in Peoria. I saw him pitch against the Timber Rattlers a couple weeks back, really good looking relief pitcher.

    Not a ton of offense out of Peoria last night. Gibbs impressed me again tonight. Real quick release behind the plate, pretty strong arm - gunned down 3 guys from WIS trying to steal. Also hit a couple of balls real hard to right/right-center - one banged off the wall for a double, the other was ran down and caught at the wall. Another note - he sure is slow. Almost got thrown out at 2nd on his double. Not a ton stood out otherwise. Jokisch doesnt throw hard. Per the Chiefs gun he was working at 84-87 all night, hitting 88 and 89 a couple times. Has a nice breaking ball though that got some swings and misses. Reliever Yohan Gonzalez threw harder, but was squared up and hit harder during his 2 innings of work. Showed a halfway decent slider.

    Pretty doubtful, the Cubs were playing that like a playoff series. Plus it was the Cubs' first ever win over the Yankees. Didn't Dusty make it so Prior/Wood/Z would all start in the series? Yep. I remember that. Didnt make a ton of sense then either. Side note - if anyone can beat the Yankees, I have faith its Douglas Davis! Go Cubs!

    Headin to peoria tonight. Jokisch isn't much a prospect, is he? IS there anyone that you guys want an amateur scouting report on? I plan on sitting behind the dish to get a good luck at the pitching, whoever that might be tonight.

    Wonder who's going out. Would be odd if its Maine after him just being recalled yesterday and then not pitching. If that's the case why not just promote Carpenter yesterday? Won't be Marmol/Marshall/Samardz. Could be Coleman I suppose. Doubt we cut bait on Rodrigo Lopez just yet. Would be stunned if they DFA'd Grablow.

    Forgive me if this has been discussed in the days prior, but it really seems like they’re really pimping this Santo book too hard on the radio. At least 2 or 3 times per game. I know they’re trying to get word out, but its become almost to the point where its become a cheap shill (at least for me). And this is coming from a guy who wore #10 in baseball growing up because he was a huge fan of Ron’s. Anyone else feel that way? Speaking of Fathers Day – “we’ve got a great Fathers day present for you!.....”
