  1. I wish I could find stats on this, because I swear the Cubs are epicly (epically?) awful.
  2. Yes, yes. Technically 2 PGs. Take out bad ump calls and no replay to correct them -- it's 3. The further we get away from that night - the worse i feel for Galarraga. I mean, he sucks, and is pretty much a AAAA player, a journeyman. That was going to be the high point of his career. I guess it still is, but he really got hosed.
  3. didnt we do this same song and dance a few days ago?
  4. Ok so I was 1 at bat early 7 actually. 1 actually. Soto, 6 other outs, a sac bunt and a walk. That's 7 AB, or 9 PA. This is one of the douchier things I’ve ever read.
  5. Marlon all smiles. Appears he's enjoying his first All-Star game. Kinda sad in a depressing season like this - seeing a Cub win and be super happy about is one of the highlights of the year for me.
  6. Lincecum, Arthur Rhodes (lol), Brian Wilson, Carpenter, and a few others. Oh man thats right. I forgot Arthur Rhodes was on this team. I saw Wainwright warming up - I'd be down with him pitching the 8th and Broxton in the 9th. Tiny Tim's supposed to sit tonight out, right? Else I'd have him pitching ahead of Wainwright.
  7. Wait - this is supposed to be an "All-Star" game and the first 2 guys due up in the 7th for the AL are Ty Wigginton and John Buck?
  8. Not 100% up to date on the rosters, who do we have to close this bitch down in the 9th?
  9. Funny that Marlon Byrd drew a walk when thats the one thing he hasn't done much of all season.
  10. You see the problem with non-guaranteed contracts in the NFL. It creates a culture of players wanting as much money right now as they can get, and rightfully so. I'm glad you added the "rightfully so" part. I've got no problem with the players in the NFL trying to get whatever they can, whenever they can. If they're underpaid, they need to try to get that money right then..because if they're paid well, and underperform, you better believe the owners aren't gonna keep paying them.
  11. So don't watch. The ASG sucks anyway. Nah - The All-Star game is great. Having it mean HFA for the Series isn't great - but the game itself, love seein all the best players playing in one game.
  12. so is the general thought that the Magic are gonna match the Redick sheet? Even if its gonna cost them 7M plus another 7M in dollar for dollar luxury tax revenue? I'm not super pumped about the bulls paying Redick 7M this year, and if I were a Magic fan i'd definitely not want them paying him almost 14M.
  13. I'm half disgusted we've sunk to this level, and that LBJ is this big of a GD egomaniac I'm half intrigued and glued to the TV. I dont know WHAT to think. Who's with me?
  14. Swept a 2-game set out there in '98. I only remember that b/c i was out there for the series (I was in HS at the time) - and went to both games. Damn, that's been 12 yrs ago. I'm getting OLD.
  15. Ask and ye shall receive. 6 IP, 3 H 0ER 1R 4/3 K/BB. Sadly, hes on the hook for an L as their down 1-0. Took an L as the Smokies fell victim to a 3-hit shutout. Brett Jackson had one of the 3 singles (Archer actually had one himself). Brutal. Still - a great showing for Archer. I'm getting quite excited about him. The reports i've read say his stuff is legit.
  16. There is no way Cleveland is last. Cleveland is still in the driver's seat. Yeah I agree with this. I'd rank 'em CLE, MIA, CHI, NY, NJ myself.
  17. Regular season wins don't always matter when it comes to the playoffs. Two times in a row Cleveland had a great record and did squat in the playoffs. In the playoffs, Cleveland's lack of secondary options means that a good team will beat them 4/7. This is much harder to do in the regular season. The playoffs are about matchups. Cleveland doesn't match up very well against playoff teams. All I said was I think the Bucks are better than the bulls Yep - That Brandon Jennings/Andrew Bogut/John Salmons/Drew Gooden quartet scares the piss out of me!
  18. ROUGH last few weeks for Gaub.
  19. Love to see another good 6 innings out of Archer tonight. On a side note - i'm gonna be in Nashville for work in a few weeks - considering heading over to a AA Tennessee game. Has anyone here been to their home park? Is it nice?
  20. The reviews are accurate - the DBacks bullepn is quite sketchy.
  21. I don't know if this is a joke or not but you learn in high school never to make the first or third out at 3rd base. That was not the right call. Was kinda mocking Len Kasper a bit...thats what he said. Of course you cool the jets and stop @ 2 unless you're absolutely 100% sure you are gonna get there - and that wasn't the case. I do wonder if they touched on whether going to 3rd was Theriot's call or the 3rd base coach's. After he got tagged out, I went and grabbed another brewski.
  22. Right call to go for 3. NEeded a perfect throw/relay/tag to get Theriot.
