  1. He didn't do organizational Top 10's. Only Top 100 prospects and Top Farm System Rankings. At least so far, don't think he's doing a Top 10 organizational rankings list He did post organizational top 10's. I don't have insider access so I have no idea what it was for the Cubs.
  2. You must really hate the Cardinals AAA franchise.
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/story?id=4861096 I like it. Although I probably have an inflated opinion of Tracy since he used to kill us.
  4. Well, it looks like all of the nightmare outfield scenarios people had going into the off-season never happened. GMJ, Pods, and Ankiel are all elsewhere.
  5. The Theriot bashing on this board is so ridiculous.
  6. Baldelli is a no for me. Big health risk and he really isn't very good anymore even when he is healthy. Honestly Nady or Dye don't really appeal to me either. Health and defense are problems for both of them. We have a lot of bullpen arms in the minors, we could afford to deal one or two of them to a team with an excess of outfielders.
  7. Thanks for the input. Question...why are you still here if you consider it a joke? Seems pretty ridiculous that a thread about Ben Sheets has turned into a chemistry debate. Several other threads have been derailed by off-topic fighting like this one and nothing is done about it.
  8. Mods on this forum are an absolute joke.

  10. I think Maddux would make a great GM one day. Teammates always raved at how perceptive he was about the game. My guess is with a little experience he could become a tremendous talent evaluator. Nice job here by the Cubs.
  11. http://espn.go.com/chicago/story?id=4816491&campaign=rss&source=CHICAGOHeadlines&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  12. Looks about right, although I think we'll see a minor move before camp. I kinda wish Baker didn't play so well last year. I think there's a good chance he's just a nice back-up infielder who got hot for a while. Maybe I'm wrong and they've been looking for a 2B but it looks like they're content with Baker/Fontenot.
  13. I'm fine with it. Ranger fans seem to have really liked Byrd from what I have seen. 3 years is a bit lengthy but the salary is pretty cheap for what Byrd can give you. I wish we were focusing on 2B too. Fontenot isn't a starter and I don't think Baker is either. Get Hudson and call it an off-season.
  14. Who are they even bidding against? I haven't heard anyone else linked to him.
  15. From what I've gathered Derosa's recent teams weren't exactly enamored with his infield defense. That and the wrist are hurting his value.
  16. I think the point of the discussion is that if someone is going to act as the team spokesman, please be someone really good, like Derrek Lee or Aramis Ramirez. That's way better than someone who only has the job because the team doesn't have someone better to play that position. He was asked a question. I'm the glad he didn't give some BS politically correct answer. He said Milton was a difficult guy to get along with, which is hardly shocking. This criticism of Theriot is a bunch of crap.
  17. My guess is Vasquez isn't thrilled with this. He's struggled in the AL and in big markets.
  18. All those guys have NTC's. Any type of rebuilding plan isn't going to happen. If the Cubs system continues to improve there won't be a need for those types of deals anyways.
  19. I wouldn't hate dealing him but really what are we gonna get back? Probably a reliever similar to Matt Capps, who we're going to sign anyways. If Castro is the real deal then he's going to be moved anyways. Doesn't really make sense to deal him now when we don't know when Castro will be ready and in house replacements can't hit a lick.
  20. I'd love to get a nice package of players for Z but it isn't very likely. The NTC and his contract will probably prevent a deal.
  21. Gardner is an interesting name. I believe he's very highly regarded defensively and on the basepaths. He did a decent job of getting on base last year. It's possible he's Juan Pierre with better defense and baserunning. Which isn't bad at the money he's making.
  22. Morgan is a pretty good player, I don't know why Pittsburgh gave him up. The Cubs would have the makings of a pretty good defensive club with Morgan in CF and Fukudome in RF. But yeah, it looks like Washington is in no hurry to deal him.
  23. Agreed with the middle infield. I'd love to get Hudson or Uggla and trade Fontenot. I'll pass on Crisp, I think injuries have taken their toll on him. I'd just go with Fuld/Colvin instead of signing a guy like Crisp or Pods.
  24. I can almost see Kaplan advocating signing Podsednik to replace Bradley.
