  1. carlos silva eh? mmm...let me look up on cots... meh...about equal we could use the pitching depth, and if we are competitive up till the deadline next season, we can trade for another starter if need be whatever
  2. 25% left yippee Xmas comes early!!! bye bye Bradley, bye bye :yahoo:
  3. i think the cardinals will regress this coming up season guys unless they pull off some miraculous moves... Brad Penny doesn't scare me, and he shouldn't scare any of you either
  4. game seven of the world series and i can pick my starter? Timmy gets the call. The best, period.
  5. not a bad deal for them at all actually unless something big happens though...they are still not going to be very good next season
  6. I agree that this move opens the door for Baker to move into the super sub role with the team but I have this funny feeling that this trade isn't going to open the door for Theriot move to 2B, but the opening to close the Castillo to the Cubs, Burrell to the Mets, Bradley to the Rays trade we've heard so much about. I hope I am wrong, tho. well it is better than us getting GMJ
  7. who does that sound like class? you got it! our old friend - Jason Marquis
  8. Are there actually rumors of us pursuing Lackey? no, but if hendry is going to throw down money for a starter, it might as well be for a good one we really need one of those on this staff, and hendry does too if he wants to *save* his job We have plenty of "good" starters, but what we dont have is a legit ace. As far as Im concerned, The only aces in the division are both on the Cardinals. Zambranos just isnt an ace, and its looking less and less like he ever will be. Oswalt looks as though his ace days are behing him. Cueto and Gallardo both have the potential, but it remains to be seen. yep, by "good" i meant "ace" i agree but i don't know if the finances are there for lackey maybe sheets, but that is putting a tremendous amount of faith in that man i am not quite sure it is worth what it would take to get halladay maybe it would be wiser to possibly swing a trade for an ace at the deadline instead

  10. i hope you are right Mr. Miles
  11. Depending on how he'd look in a workout...I'd rather have Sheets. do you mean sheets over lackey? i agree because price will be cheaper...i think sheets is the definite wild card out of the FA pitchers this offseason
  12. piece (peace) out miles...you ninja turtle looking [expletive]!!! wOOt :yahoo: which ever is perferred!!! hot damn this alone makes me more excited than i thought i was going to be for next season
  13. um... actually...if we could sign lackey...i would be down for this without an upgrade in the rotation though...me no likey
  14. That is pretty strong. he lost me at "the world's best athlete"
  15. Per MLBTradeRumors The Chicago Cubs are interested in Curtis Granderson, but would prefer to move Milton Bradley before aggressively pursuing Granderson, according to Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune. Earlier today, we heard that talks of a Bradley-Pat Burrell swap are still alive. If the Cubs were to deal Bradley and acquire Granderson, it would allow them to play Granderson in center field and move Kosuke Fukudome to right (Bradley's position). But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Rogers indicates that the Tigers are seeking multiple major-league-ready players in any trade for Granderson or right-hander Edwin Jackson. The Cubs also seem unwilling to part with top prospect Starlin Castro in order to acquire Granderson, so it remains to be seen if they have the chips to complete a deal. Rogers expects Bradley and Granderson talks to heat up during or before next week's winter meetings.
  16. oh yeah, i would be on board with the douche i think he is a better pitcher than harden got to put him on the same meds as greinke though
  17. harden said that he wanted to stay in chicago, so it is pretty obvious why he wasn't offered arbitration this isn't a mistake he is the canadian version of dice-k...5 inning headache
  18. i am very happy with these decisions personally i don't think harden is worth it, and i think my opinion will be shown for truth in the upcoming season
  19. sounds like he had too much turkey and wine
  20. very tempting 1. wouldn't want to give up castro, but i would include vitters 2. wouldn't want to hurt or deplete bullpen still leaves much to be desired in the outfield though, but i don't really know how to solve that situation
  21. this same general argument pops up, what, every 3 or so months?
  22. lol just got done reading that ... Go Jim Go!
  23. holy christ, early october excitement of 2008 seems like such a very very long time ago
  24. well, it can't get worse than last offseason right guys? :beg:
