  1. I wanna see a Dodgers-Yankees series.
  2. I think I'd rather have them overpay for a good second baseman than a mediocre middle reliever.
  3. I think we'll be better this year than last year. Getting rid of Gordon will be a plus, as it will free up some more possessions for the rest of the team. Having Salmons and Miller for the whole year will get us a few extra wins as well. Plus if we can get improvement from Rose, Tyrus, and Noah... plus some decent production from Deng... then we're looking at a good team. Not to mention a healthy Hinrich. Now let's just hope everything works out.
  4. Well... Rowand did have a couple good years... so it would be possible for the move to pay off. Not saying I would do it for sure, but if we traded Bradley for a CF who put up an OPS over .900 in 2010....I'd have to call that a victory.
  5. The thought crossed my mind for the first time this season... but I very quickly decided that it would be impossible. No matter how hard I tried, there's just no way I could stop being a Cubs fan. So, this team better win something pretty soon because otherwise we're all just screwed.
  6. Now I'm wondering who the hell we're going to find that's willing to take him? Even if we eat his salary... I'm not sure how many teams are going to want anything to do with him. I've been a huge Milton Bradley fan up until right around nowish. I just don't understand what his deal is. As others have said, he's got some sort of serious psychological issue. He sabotages every situation he's in and it's almost like he doesn't want to succeed.
  7. There has been a massive change in his swing from 2008 to 2009. He's finally returned to his old uppercut that he had in the past... and as others have said, it's a sign that his wrist is fully healed. I think with a wrist injury... it affects a hitter's power long after the injury itself is healed. It makes the hitter a little hesitant to let it go entirely.
  8. What did Theriot ever do wrong? Any team would love to have a guy who is cheap who hits .300, gets on base, and steals a base every now and then. He's also been probably the most consistent Cub for the last 2 seasons. I realize his range and arm pretty much suck, but I don't consider shortstop to be a weakness on this team. We can still win with Theriot. In fact, I think Theriot would be one of the last of our offensive players I'd get rid of. Ramirez is a keeper, and I'd like to see what happens with Geo, but other than that, I'd say the rest of the lineup is pretty expendable. I would even consider selling high on Lee if we could get a really good deal for him. But Theriot... I would hang on to. IMHO, he's valuable to the team, and I also don't think we'd get enough return for him to justify a trade. He's certainly worth more than a backup OF'er.
  9. I think altering the shade of Cubbie blue is one of the worst ideas I've heard in quite awhile. I also wouldn't touch our logo either. There needs to be a focus on NOT changing stuff (aside from the players and front office). If the colors/jerseys/logos get changed, pretty soon they're gonna be knocking down Wrigley.
  10. Trading Theriot for Delmon Young would be an awful idea. There's no reason to get rid of Theriot... he's cheap and he's solid offensively. We have about 700 billion dollars committed to our outfield already next year, so we have no need for another outfielder. It also wouldn't make sense to platoon Kosuke at this point, considering he can actually hit now. Plus, Delmon Young sucks.
  11. There was a stretch this year where Geo got hot and it looked like he was back. Then he got hurt again. I don't see why they'd bench him... I'd let him hit out of it. Mostly because we're out of the race, but also because I know he WILL hit out of it.
  12. I'm in no hurry to move Bradley. The guy's numbers aren't even all that bad anymore. I know he's a nutcase but he can play... and I think he'll be better next year.
  13. I'd like to see Harden in our rotation in 2010.
  14. I wouldn't put too much stock in that. Most marriages don't last these days anyway. And the ones that do, more often than not, shouldn't.
  15. If we can get Harden to come back for a reasonable price, I'd keep him around. I love the guy.
  16. x2 That's my favorite burger in the Chicago area by far. Out of the options available, I chose Fatburger. But we don't have those around here. The best burger you can get from a drive-thru would be Steak n Shake.
  17. I'd rather have guys say things like Arroyo has, rather than making a complete fool of themselves like ARod. Can't hate on honesty.
  18. Maybe he catch on with an NFL team now.
  19. I'm looking forward to watching the Bulls.
  20. Didn't anyone else think it was kinda hilarious/awesome? I know the Mets fans were loving it.
  21. This season is SO over. I hope there isn't anyone that hasn't given up yet.
  22. Okay how much do I have to pay one of you guys to go whack Kevin Gregg?
  23. This reminds me of that one inning against the Dodgers in the playoffs last year. All you can do is sit there and go, "What?". Somehow this feels like the beginning of the end of our season, though.
  24. I think it's hilarious how Harden as been one of our healthiest pitchers this year. Who would've seen that coming? *knock on wood*
