  2. Javy's OPS is over 1.000 and he has a .212 BABIP.
  3. You won't. As long as they get some games in, they'll be kicking ass very soon.
  4. I'm not really going to give him leeway because walking 8 per 9 is simply unacceptable. But he's not going to walk 8 per 9 all year. He just won't. So I remain confident in him. He's got a 4.30 FIP and a 4.60 ERA, despite walking 8 per 9 innings. He's missing plenty enough bats. He's throwing his curve more the last 2 games. He's getting a ton of weak contact and not giving up much hard contact at all. The exit velocities against him have been really low. He's keeping the ball in the park. He's getting grounders. He's not giving up line drives. Basically all the stuff that was mentioned about him -- pertaining to him being a sneaky breakout candidate after getting away from Coors -- is happening. Except... he's walking 8 per 9. Take that down to around 4 per 9 and he is going to be quite successful for us. He'll be fine, but he needs to quit horsefeathering walking so many guys.
  5. I really don't get the Happ at leadoff thing. He's not even a great fit there if he wasn't all fucked up. He's a slugger that strikes out a lot. Stick his ass back there with Schwarber and let them swing for the fences.
  6. If Heyward can hit it that far, these other guys better start giving me some dongs.
  7. Chatwood is going to have a lower ERA than Arrieta this year. Team Chatwood.
  8. As it turns out, the projection systems thought too highly of the Brewers.
  9. There had to be some serious topspin on that, too. When it first hit the grass, it just took off. I'm not sure of the physics of everything with the wet grass. But, from that Fangraphs article looking at similarly hit balls, that data doesn't include spin. So I'm wondering if it has something to do with how quick Javy's hands are and if it had something to do with how fast the bat was, I guess, rotating or whatever as Javy's swing went through the ball.
  10. The Cubs have the 6th fewest strikeouts in the past 7 days. I'm sensing a trend. It will probably change eventually, but by how much?
  11. Shocking that every Brewer that randomly had a career year last year has went back to being bad.
