  1. The best base running play in franchise history came from the slowest player in franchise history.
  2. Really hoping Kyle has his command tonight. He finally found it after the first inning his last start.
  3. I think it's bukie's turn. But it's close enough to game time that we probably should just throw one up.
  4. The Brewers are complete frauds. They're even worse than I thought they'd be. It will be quite evident by the end of May.
  5. Lindor also gets a bump over Rizzo in Off of 8.9 due to base running. The BsR numbers go into Off. Also Lindor had more PAs than both. More PAs = more opportunity to add value. And it's also adjusted for stuff like park effects and whatnot. And OPS isn't the best measurement and will differ from wOBA and wRC+. So there might not appear to be differences between SLG%, but whether you double or homer or single your way to it matters -- because different types of hits are calculated differently than with SLG%. And since OBP and SLG have different denominators, there's even more hidden differences you might not see.
  6. After we add Bryce next year there will have to be serious discussions on whether our offense is better than the Murderers' Row.
  7. honestly if these two are taking real steps to being elite offensive players (not to mention how immensely valuable javy becomes given his defense too), i can't really comprehend what this offense is going to look like through the summer months. (and then imagine adding bryce harper to that). is it even possible to add a competent heyward on top of that? holy crap. Wait until Russell starts donging to go with a 10%/17% BB/K.
  8. Good news on the Schwarber front, he's actually been pretty awesome against lefties but the results don't show it because of SSS. His wOBA against lefties is .200 but his xwOBA is .422. His xwOBA against lefties last year was .281. He's hitting the ball really hard against them, at 94.1 mph -- even harder than he is hitting the ball against righties in the early going. Last year his avg. exit velocity against lefties was 86.1 mph. He's had a couple line outs that have sunk his early numbers. And the best part, he has a 31.3% K% against lefties, but he's actually made contact on 78.6% of his swings against them. Last year he was at 63.1%. Seems like sequencing has got the best of him in a handful of ABs, included a few called strike threes. Almora's probably always going to kinda suck against righties, though -- at least the ones with decent breaking stuff.
  9. Someone needs to hook me up to this with clips of Javy's rookie season so I don't write a Javy article:
  10. The first half of their lineup is really nice. But they've got some serious trash on their roster. They've got like 3 guys playing every night who are Broken Heyward bad. And that rotation is just begging to be donged to death by some good lineups.
  11. #wearegood Get this pitching worked out and the bats will dong us to heights never seen before.
  12. Not sure if I see enough to overturn, but who knows with this horsefeathers?
  13. Maybe he will walk a batter per inning all year.
  14. Heyward can still walk. An improvement upon my Arrieta article.
  15. This offense is going to destroy people when it gets hot out.
  16. What's the worst that could happen? He sucks and is an albatross around our necks for the rest of time?
  17. I had to include that somewhere in the article. I've been cracking up about it since he posted it in whatever game thread it was in.
