  1. guh....come on. i'm in a good mood and you bring this. Vitters for Grabow? Name the last time Hendry traded a TOP prospect during the season? I mean someon of Vitters ability. Hate on Hendry if you want, but he does do trades very solid. Choi was still very highly regarded when he was traded. that was in the off-season. besides, it was all a joke you psychos
  2. guh....come on. i'm in a good mood and you bring this. Vitters for Grabow? vitters wasn't in the lineup last night! oh no

  4. you're really hurting your team today, Cecil. first you give away an out with your 8-9 hitters coming up and then you walk the opposing teams worst hitter with one out.
  5. It also sounds like the Cubs are going with 13 pitchers today partly because Fuld isn't in Chicago yet (Stevens was still in Chicago). Bruce said that Fuld will be activated for tomorrow's game. that makes sense. although, i might consider bringing up Robinson instead of Fuld. i guess Soto is supposed to be back possibly next week though.
  6. dumb everytime i see this tread bumped i feel a little sick.
  7. soooo...13 pitchers? or am i missing something? i really don't like playing with a short bench, especially with the current situation at catcher.
  8. Career vs. RHP: Bradley: 266/364/430/794 Hermida: 272/349/441/790 Both have been below those career numbers this season. If Bradley can produce at a .794 clip in the second half against righties, then great. But he's shown no power at all this season. Yes, but I'm more inclined to think Bradley is still likely to rebound a bit in that department. it's not a sure thing, of course. taking into account that we'd have to give up something to get Hermida, the fact that he's limited to corner OF, the likelyhood that Bradley is going to sulk in that situation and the probablility that Hermida is most likely only a slight upgrade at best, i'm not too interested.

  10. i really don't Sam Fuld is worth...anything really. also, that leaves the Cubs without a backup CF
  11. yeah, i think i'd actually prefer Bradley in RF vs. RHP than either of those guys. especially once considering that we'd have to actually give up something to get either one of them. at least Teahen can play 3B/1B and possibly some 2B which makes him more appealing than Hermida, i guess.
  12. they haven't mentioned anything on the radio broadcast yet
  13. Publically...but who knows what is said when he and Bobby Wade get all crazy in Vegas. this.
  14. holy crap i walked away for about 5 mins and i miss six runs
  15. i normally wouldn't want Fox starting at C, but Hill has got to be exausted. it's a day game after a night game with a pitcher on the mound (I assume) that Fox has experience catching from the minors.
  16. no kidding. but i doubt it matters, even if he did say it. i imagine that Urlacher probably says that about just about every quarterback anyway.
  17. wouldn't have minded seeing Fox behind the plate today. day game after a night game and i assume (perhaps wrongly) that he has some experience catching Wells.
  18. i was not a strong advocate of moving Soriano out of the leadoff spot prior to this season. with the way he hit last season, i wanted him to get the extra PAs he'd get hitting 1st versus what he would have gotten hitting 5th-6th.
  19. yeah i can see why they want someone "fresh" up but it seem like it should have been Samardzija who was sent down. hasn't he thrown 3 days in a row?
  20. Heilman's the type of arm you throw out there in the 5th last night when Dempster clearly didn't have it. And you hope to get 2-3 innings out of him without giving up a ton of runs. exactly. not to mention that they really could have used a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the 4th for Dempster on that bases loaded, two out situation. i know that's early to be using a PH, but Dempster was on a short leash anyway and it seemed like a really critical opputunity to put up a big number. obviously the flip side of that was that the pen was spent from the night before and Lou wanted to get as many innings out of Dempster as possible.
  21. what's really amazing is that he keeps bringing him in with runners on base when he's been absolutely brutal at holding inherited runners. i mean, if you need to use him at least do it to start an inning if possible.
