  1. I really don't care who is at fault. Divorces happen. Wondering for those who have gotten divorced, how long do you get to be away from your job while dealing with it? Like is Zobrist gone for more than a month, or does the dude need to get back to work?
  2. Unfortunately, we didn't give them much of a cushion, especially in a park like this where they could tie the game and/or win in a blink of an eye.
  3. Although Heyward is back to being Heyward, he picked a really good time to have a great month. He helped bridge the gap and buy our offense time when a few established guys weren't doing anything early, and then for an added bonus had one big moment left with a game-winning home run last week.
  4. To be fair, I thought the same thing about Gleyber Torres then he showed up and hit the same amount of home runs in 123 major league games that it took him to hit in 373 minor league games. Baseball is unpredictable. But Milwaukee's history of top middle infield prospects has been... not good for them. Huira has a different offensive profile than those players though. Escobar and Arcia were glove first whose bats never truly came around. Huira's bat looks ready to go. Don't know much about his defensive profile He plays his home games in AAA Coors field and the AAA ball is juiced this year so I’d take a grain of salt with any numbers this year, I think he absolutely has a solid hit tool and will hit for a decent average but I don’t think he’s going to hit for a ton of power or walk a ton. He’s also running a ~30% K rate in AAA so far this year. I think he rates out quite poorly defensively at 2B, but with their shift BS they should be able to hide it. Also speaking of the great Gleyber..... despite the HR power we didn’t see he was only a ~1 win player last year and he’s hitting .286/.323/.456, 104 wRC+ with a 5%BB rate and 20% K rate this year. Just a heads up. I think the AAA team is now in San Antonio rather than Colorado Springs.
  5. The good news is that Addison Russell will never play well enough to have this happen.
  6. I know I sound like Jim Hendry, but I want that consistent leadoff hitter so bad. A guy who gets on base and has some speed. Basically, I miss Dexter.
  7. With it being a Sunday night game, and an off day on Monday, and that he didn't play on Thursday, I'm down with Willy starting. Oh, and I think Lester is pitching, so no choice.
  8. It's pretty remarkable that he already has matched his home run total in 100 fewer games.
  9. Excellent timing. Please don't bump. Please don't bump.
  10. And there's the jinx. I'm not sure it matters. This is the Marlins game from last season. They can play 35 innings. I don't think the Cubs are scoring again.
  11. Hey everyone. I just find it weird that the Cubs are struggling to score against the Brewers. Even though I took a shower five hours ago, I'm going to hop in and see if I can create some Sofa magic. I think the Cubs need it. Off I go.
  12. I have to be candid. I feel they have had multiple clunkers in the past five games, they were just able to get away with it because they were against the Marlins. I am not satisfied with the Cubs' performance against the Brewers since the middle of last season, or whenever it was after we got off to a good start against them by winning a bunch of 1-0 games. I don't enjoy that for whatever reason, I feel like they are in control. The Cubs need to change that.
  13. I can't watch and I don't want to watch. But I want our offense to do something because I hate the Brewers and I hate that we aren't scoring many runs very recently.
  14. Take this to the politics board. Oh, wait.
  15. I think Hey just said "horsefeathers." Hahahaha.
  16. What a fascinating series so far. Love seeing J-Hey get some slugging.
  17. Bold prediction: I say the reaction is for sure not one of a standing O, that it's mixed and that we hear some quality boos. Naive?
  18. I hope there is a decent to good chance he doesn't even make it a month. Hader and Chapman survived because they are good, but if Russell slugs .350 the boos are going to be quick and they are going to be loud. Or that's just me wishful thinking.
  19. It makes no sense considering they tendered him, but for some reason I actually was thinking he was never going to play a game for them again. Baez established at SS, a number of guys that can play 2B, then coupled with the fact that Russell just isn't that good at baseball, and I just don't get it.
  20. Zobrist's personal issue was before Russell was called up. Zobrist played with Chapman. I don't think this is why he's on the restricted list.
  21. They also caught them at the perfect time with half their offense on the DL. Of course, their bullpen sucks even when healthy.
  22. Yeah, that combined with healthy Zobrist, fixed JHey, and normal seasons from other guys is pretty exciting. I'm inclined to shoot Almora into the sun, but even he's shown signs in the last week of not being terrible. I'd love for J-Hey to be fixed, but I do fear that he's slowly going to be coming back to normal J-Hey where slugging .400 is difficult.
  23. I still don't think he's getting $300 million, but the final number went up $1 million tonight.
  24. OK. This bad game was worth it in the end.
