  1. Not to steal your thing, but I feel like if we don't score more runs it will not work out no matter what is decided.
  2. sucks that we’ll never know Fast fact, a question and one opinion: - Just realized you and Derwood signed up within a week of each other since 2003. - How did Derwood get "Stall Monitor" designation instead of Hall of Fame, 5-time All-Star, etc? - I will say, I found his opinion that there was a good chance we'd never hear about the child's condition to be wrong and somewhat surprising. That said, no harm in being wrong sometimes.
  3. No way. That was a really emotional scene and Albert's reaction both when it happened and an inning later makes it very newsworthy.
  4. Considering we only score when we dong, it would have been cool to get a guy home from third with no outs on just like a sac fly even.
  5. Javy is like 2014 swinging at everything Javy.
  6. Trading for Jesse Chavez, getting greatness from him, then being smart and not bringing him back on a two-year deal?
  7. I sort of feel bad for him. I don't think he was ever supposed to play this much. I'm not sure even he thought he was going to play this much.
  8. If KB wasn't such a wimp it would have been the perfect time to PH. Just kidding, KB. Sort of.
  9. I think the Cubs or Braves get him. That said, I firmly believe if we get him he will be like Greg Holland last year. But if we don't, he will be lights out.
  10. The only problem with getting Kimbrel would still be trying to get to him with the lead, right?
  11. I guess if you are only going to score runs via the dong, it's at least a fun way to score runs.
  12. Not even joking, I'd have taken out the pitcher after he walked him. You know he's losing it at that point.
  13. The Cubs don’t suck but the pitching is a legit big concern to me. Cubs have no power arms in their rotation and are relying on 3 guys with either major injury concerns or are in their mid-30s. Their bullpen has a bunch of AAA arms and a couple of guys who might be considered slightly below average closers. And again no power arms. They have and will pitch better than they have the last 10 days but I’m willing to bet the true skill level is a little closer to this than the dominant period (but then again I can be pessimistic). And if it is, it’s not just 1-2 little fixes that need to be made What's interesting as I think about it, the top two teams in the Central both don't have any power arms in their rotation for the most part.
  14. This is true. Other than Yu -- who sometimes doesn't throw strikes -- all our other guys sort of have to be getting the corners and being really on their game or sometimes things get bad.
  15. Good call. They’re playing horrible baseball right now. It won’t be forever, but it certainly doesn’t inspire confidence if we have to play these guys in October. Haha. I mean, if we are playing them in October, let's just enjoy the World Series, right? Let's roll the dice and be pretty happy at that point.
  16. Now as a five-time All-Star on this board, I've learned that these things tend to go in waves. It all looks like horsefeathers right now, but the team does have a lot of talent. So, it will turn back the other way and we all will be excited again. It's just never fun during the lows, but it always turns around unless your team legit sucks. And I don't think this team legit sucks.
  17. I don't think we blow at all, but I will say without any factual evidence to back this up, it does seem like we only score when we dong.
  18. So you've already written the final two chapters of this series after the second inning of Game 2? That's fine. But just confirming. First inning* Sorry. First inning. Please confirm.

  20. Get home Sunday night, drive 62 miles to Atlantic City and then back sometime on Monday or Tuesday morning doesn't seem that crazy, right?
  21. Rocky IV. How dare you not know this. Eh. I’m sure i watched it but was probably back in my college years. As much as I stay on top of a lot of the new “must see” TV shows I’m equally bad on not seeing some of the classic movies. Therefore I never give anyone heat for not watching GoT or Breaking Bad - I get it, there’s only so much time we have at disposal. It's OK. I understand. I never watched Lost, but I also understand what you are saying about not watching when you hear about a stupid ending. Therefore, if you've never seen Dexter, you might not want to start.
  22. Is this a Lost reference? I’ve never watched it and now never will because the finale is apparently ass x1000 and who wants to watch a show that ends like that Rocky IV. How dare you not know this.
  23. Really felt that was an important inning after taking the lead with the slam. Going through the heart of the order on a windy blowing out night and keeping them off the board was big. It also knocks off one more inning.
