  1. I......don't think that's what he was saying. ETA: Although Sofa also did that to me today in a way, somehow implying me saying that I don't think Ian Happ should be called up means I somehow support Addison Russell being up. You two are amazing. Why am I being included in this? I realize that you don't support Addison Russell and that your uncle was drunk.
  2. I appreciate the dedication to the username. I appreciate your love for Addison Russel I......don't think that's what he was saying. ETA: Although Sofa also did that to me today in a way, somehow implying me saying that I don't think Ian Happ should be called up means I somehow support Addison Russell being up.
  3. What am I missing? Even if Turner doesn't always stay healthy, don't we do that? Guys. What the hell are you doing. I mean, I was just responding to his response that he would do it "if" Turner could stay healthy, not to your drunk relative thinking the Nats would do that trade.
  4. I'd actually do that if you could guarantee Turner could stay healthy What am I missing? Even if Turner doesn't always stay healthy, don't we do that?
  5. How does that compare to that one Dodgers at-bat from years and years ago? Amazing.
  6. Did someone here the other day say you never should bring in Carl Jr. with runners on? Does this mean we should worry?
  7. I really feel like we should be rewarded for the Nationals having an even worse pen. Like, with multiple runs.
  8. I think I'd have brought in that guy they call Salt, hoping he'd be able to get a double play. The Cubs certainly are living on the edge the last three innings. You likely can only escape so many times.
  9. This inning is becoming as irritating as the one yesterday when Willson kept letting balls get passed him.
  10. Not at all. The point is that right now had we signed one or two guys we wouldn't have some large lead that was being talked about. That's all. It does not mean that over the long haul not being active is not going to come back and bite the Cubs. It means that right now, we would not have a big lead no matter what because the Brewers have been too good as of May 17 to have gotten that far ahead. What's the issue here?
  11. It kind of sucks that like a little over a week ago, Turner, Soto and Rendon were all on the IL and now they are all back at just the wrong time.
  12. brantley (2 years, $32 million) is hitting .329/.379/.575 and has already been worth 1.8 war. there were relievers available, too. Sorry; it was apparently Harper or nothing. Based on our board throughout the ENTIRE winter, you are damn horsefeathering right it was. But, yes, let's cherry pick Michael Brantley and pretend everyone wanted him. ETA: Even if we had Brantley, we still wouldn't be way ahead in the standings. Which is the point.
  13. Huh? If you are saying we need Ian Happ up for Addison Russell, fine. That's not what I'm saying. Neither should be. He should definitely be up instead of Russell, and arguably over Almora, or to put Bote or Descalso on IL. All of this is obvious. He can be up over Russell. It doesn't matter over the other guys. He will just be the new whipping boy for the guys who we all think suck. Dude has a slash line of .228/.352/.368 as an almost 25-year-old in Triple A. Also, at least admit it was stupid to want to DL Rizzo now. Because this was never about Ian Happ. It was always about DLing Rizzo to bring anybody up.
  14. Huh? If you are saying we need Ian Happ up for Addison Russell, fine. That's not what I'm saying. Neither should be.
  15. Check that. Ian Happ is down to .368 slugging in a juiced Triple A. Gotta get him up NOW.
  16. Well, yeah, due in no small part to the owners/FO just deciding to punt trying to put a better team out there. Nah. At this point, Bryce Harper wouldn't have us much more ahead in the race.
  17. the astros do and they piss me off i'm not really trashing the cubs, i'm just once again sharing my extreme aggravation over the brewers The Astros division is just so bad, must be nice. Selig never should’ve moved the VBs out the the AL. But he did to make their revenue increase with a dozen or so home games against the Cubs every year. Yeah, my baseball life would be so much better had that never happened.
  18. Eh, I don't know about any of this. That shitty opening week was followed by like a 22-6 record. They have done more than enough early on considering going into yesterday they had like the best record in the National League. The fact is the Cubs are in a really competitive division and pulling away this early likely wasn't going to happen. I just feel fortunate they are where they are considering everyone but Cubswin11 wrote them off after the first week.
  19. I think they only got one guy on after the first inning. That was asking a lot.
