  1. I feel we have a couple runs now tonight. Success!
  2. Any time the Cubs get two runners on in an inning, I pretend that's like other teams scoring a run. It feels better that way.
  3. No. He will be fine. He's too solid not to come out of it.
  4. The Brewers have totally sucked this season and don't have ARam or Hart in their lineup. It's 31 degrees out. And they are having no problem scoring runs because we enjoy giving them away.
  5. Given that I hate the Brewers more than any team in the MLB, and given the fact that the Cubs are sucking hard core again tonight, I'm in a rage mode that I'm embarrassed to be in right now. Screw everything.
  6. I have to admit I'm embarrassed by our Cubs. They can't even get an offense going against a team that has given up 12 or more hits in all but one of their games so far. With the wind blowing out. With Marco Estrada pitching. Ugh.
  7. Huh? Yeah. Exactly. Plus, there was a legit chance Upton didn't want to play for the Cubs. I get the whole 'put big market teams on the no-trade list for leverage' thing, but he may have nixed coming here for all we know.
  8. I respect that, but the eye test keeps making me feel like crap.
  9. This last sentence of this comment makes my hed hurd. And now?
  10. Nah, it's a total team effort. All three things you mentioned did the Cubs in tonight. None of the three could pick the other two up.
  11. This seriously isn't Marmol's fault. He's not a good pitcher anymore, and he shouldn't be on the roster. He can't help it that they keep calling his number.
  12. When you blow this game, Carlos, I promise I won't burn your jersey that I have in my closet. But I will refuse to wear it.
  13. I don't want to be negative, I really don't. But if the Cubs don't score a few or seven runs this inning and we bring in Carlos Marmol to save a one run lead in the ninth, the Atlanta Braves are going to win.
  14. People always complain that their team doesn't score with a runner on third and less than two outs. Often times, they are wrong. In our case, we are right.
  15. Did you have anyone in particular in mind? If anything, Marmol is maybe buying that guy some time to develop into something more useful. I'd ask everybody to forgive me for what I'm about to say, but I'd even take Chone Figgins on the roster than Marmol. That inane "personal dislike" comment ended up being prophetic I'd like to point out that I actually do own an authentic Carlos Marmol jersey that I paid almost $200 for back in 2008. I love the guy. Just don't want him on the team anymore.

  17. This last sentence of this comment makes my hed hurd. So stop reading after the first sentence. Please explain why that trade would work out even if Haren were to never pitch a game for the Cubs. Love to hear it. Because Marmol also would not pitch a game for the Cubs. Beat me to it. This.
  18. This last sentence of this comment makes my hed hurd. So stop reading after the first sentence. Please explain why that trade would work out even if Haren were to never pitch a game for the Cubs. Love to hear it. Because I don't believe Carlos Marmol is a good pitcher anymore, and I'd rather him not be on the team. Therefore, I'd rather have another roster spot open for somebody I think might be of more help. And, yes, I realize Marmol was better in the second half last season, yet, I don't care. I don't think he's a good pitcher anymore.

  20. Bad medicals or not, I still really wish we'd have done the Haren trade. I really didn't see that one working out poorly, even if Haren never pitched a game for the Cubs.
  21. This is the one thing I hate about baseball. Instead of just winning a game 3-0 with relative ease, they have to bring in some dude designated as a closer who shouldn't even be pitching.
  22. By the way, I agree with everyone that all fans think their team has problems scoring with a runner on third and fewer than two outs. But I really do think our team has struggled with it as much as anybody the past few seasons. However, as somebody said, it's probably because we haven't had many good hitters.
  23. I don't even know where to look these numbers up, but I'd bet that it's been a problem the last few seasons.
