  1. Were you saying that five days ago? Not as much, which is why I'm hoping it's just frustration. However, I'm scared that I've been trying to deny what my eyes have been seeing for a while now because I want so much for Starlin to be a star. However, I've become more and more annoyed with his at bats and no longer want to use his age as an excuse. The dude could reach another level, but his approach at that plate simply won't allow him to at this point. Again, I hope I'm just speaking out of emotion because he's annoying the hell out of me.
  2. His OPS is .684. He sucks this year. It's not emotion/frustration. Haha. Good point.
  3. I'm also not liking our offense and its consistent ability to not score a guy from third with less than two outs.
  4. This is just emotion and frustration talking, but I'm starting to really not like Starlin.
  5. Yeah, I know it's easy to say now, but it just seemed like such an obvious move to make. Bringing in your Rule V pick to start the inning against the Pirates best hitters was confusing.
  6. Whether it's lack of concentration or just impatience, it can be difficult at times to watch Castro bat. Some of the swings he puts on pitches in certain counts has got me frustrated.
  7. I was going to say the same thing but feared people would think I'm freaking out this early. But, yeah, he's making me sad.
  8. I should so edit my post as not to have the worst post of all time. You have got to be kidding me.
  9. Yeah, but it's only 102 pitches. He can go to 115. That's fine.
  10. Am I missing something here? Hairston plays when Sappalt does.
  11. Well, one run is probably going to score on a wild pitch. Can Gregg keep the other one from scoring? This is assuming he doesn't give up a homer, of course.
  12. Has anybody ever seen a catching crew allow this many runs because they can't catch?
  13. Well first, that's a good reason not to go off just one series. Second, it's still not true. As I type, they've outscored the Marlins 14-11. That projects to a .610 win percentage over a season. I'd agree you don't want to go off one series. I was just saying this one series really depressed me despite winning it.
  14. They aren't. They are much better than the Marlins. I'd wish they'd play like it then. This series has basically been as even as you can get.
  15. Horrible half inning for so many reasons. I know the Cubs at worst are going to win three of four, but this series actually depressed me more than made me happy. I can't believe the Cubs are at the level of the Marlins.
  16. Love that we found a team we can beat, but dang, we can't even score a lot of runs against the Marlins.
  17. Now that he is a bit older and wiser, and has learned how to pitch rather than just throw, coupled with the Cubs getting a stretch of games against the Padres and Marlins....I believe we will win 86 games.
  18. Well ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have just found our new closer. Clutch.
  19. Even when I don't agree with him, I love that guy. There are so many great posters on this board, but Nuts remains my favorite.
  20. It's still one of the rangiest infield defenses in baseball especially with Barney returning. DeJesus doesn't belong in CF, but I think the defense will be strong overall. I hope so. I really do. Because it's been brutal so far with balls being thrown away, not fielded and hitting the backstop.
  21. I'd also add that while it's bad enough to have one of MLB's worst offenses, I just don't understand why we have to also endure one of the MLB's worst defenses. When a team doesn't score any runs, it's so painful to watch them also just give them away.
  22. Agreed. I love Theo and believe in what he is doing.......but, dang, this is far more embarrassing than what I thought was going to happen.
  23. Was anybody aware that we selected Jim Henderson in the Rule V draft back in 2006? I was not.
