  1. I guess my only question is why would we extend any of our pitchers past 100 at this point of the year? Not saying they won't, but why? "Extend" depends on the situation. Lester was cruising pretty well, the only threatening hitter due up is LH, and Lester going another inning keeps bullpen arms from getting used too much. Sure you can always use the bottom of the pen guys, especially in September, but in a 0-0 game you're still playing to win, that's what all the players sign up for. I'm probably being overly cautious, but I am more focused on October. So if a guy is at 100 and it's tied in August, oh well if we lose. I say we at least try to increase our playoff chances by 0.5 percent by using the advantage of a big lead to rest regulars and not push anyone past 100.
  2. He's due up 3rd, so if there's anyone on base it's an easy no. Maybe even if it's 2 out and none on too. I guess my only question is why would we extend any of our pitchers past 100 at this point of the year? Not saying they won't, but why?
  3. Donaldson, sure, but the hell you can't on the other two (especially Archer/Garza). I still say LeMahieu is mostly a product of Coors Field and would be nothing we care that much about should he not play 81 games there.
  4. Yes I always figure that's difficult for a pitcher, but it also is probably just an excuse.
  5. Is this his first time throwing to Willson this year? Don't even remember.
  6. But then you'd think ever ball that a Cub made contact with was a home run.
  7. What kind of value are you getting for a DH only? Seriously asking, seems like you'd be lucky to get an Odorizzi level talent or else would have to take a gamble on a injured guy coming back with upside like Garrett Richards I'm not expecting them to trade Soler straight up for another pitcher. I'd think they'd use him as a key piece in a trade. Also, it's not like teams would ONLY be looking for him as a DH; I'm sure plenty of teams would assume or hope they could get him to perform tolerably in LF or at 1B. Yeah, the A's traded for, and play at times in the outfield, Khris Davis. I don't care if the metrics would state otherwise (too lazy to look), but Soler is not worse than Davis in the OF.
  8. What was this all about? It was right in the middle of a Riz lovefest and we can't see the game. That was a very belated response to David Ross hitting into a double play with the bases loaded Hahahahaha.

  10. Why I wanted to bury them. Well, even a sweep wasn't going to do that.
  11. I have to imagine the percentages were pretty high to win when we were up 3-1 and had bases loaded and nobody out in the 7th. Fascinating sport.
  12. Was Chapman running weird going into the dugout or does he always look like that?
  13. Fans hate him. Teammates love him. I'm cool.
  14. The last game right before the break was when Sofa changed his pic back to Starlin.
  15. And the throw by Addy from Cogs to get Carpenter at the plate.
  16. Agreed. That to me is why when an MCL injury is serious its associated with an ACL, too.
  17. it's possible to damage it enough that it requires surgical repair if it's torn and detached enough that it can't heal on its own. http://www.healthline.com/health/medial-collateral-ligament-mcl-injury-of-the-knee#Treatment5 You are a percentage guy. Just know that the chances of tearing an MCL and being out a full year is like almost zero. He will be back in two months if that's what it is.
  18. Just found this. A pretty quick read https://www.ucsfhealth.org/conditions/mcl_tear/treatment.html
  19. The worst MCL is a Grade 3 and it's like six to eight weeks. What is wrong with you people? Haha. you can't fully tear an MCL to the point that it requires surgical repair? i doubt that would heal in a max of 8 weeks. MCL doesn't require surgery unless it's part of a larger ACL injury, which case the ACL is screwed and he needs surgery on that. Think Rob Gronkowski a few years ago.

  21. wouldn't an mcl tear put him out for like a year too? I think it depends on the grade - cutler had that one and played football on it for a few series. Usually like six to eight weeks. For sure not a year. And, guys, an ACL no longer shelves pro athletes for a year.
  22. Wait. What? We will see him by like May. Maybe even April.
  23. Did anyone else hear Willson say in the postgame interview that he thinks Strop "tore his knee?" I thought that's what I heard but couldn't tell.
