    That is all fine and good. I have a problem with specifically assuming the two men in the booth today are racist based on assumptions. It is incredibly unfair to them. Yeah, I'll get right on worrying about that. Not asking you to worry about it. Doesn't make my statement at all wrong.

    Just seems incredibly irresponsible and unfair to accuse people of being racist without having any evidence. Uh, non-white players getting more [expletive] for doing the sort of thing Lackey does isn't some made up thing; it's basically a cliche: http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2012/08/how-mlb-announcers-favor-american-players-over-foreign-ones/261265/ It's a pretty safe bet that if Lackey was Latino we'd hear a LOT more criticism for his [expletive] attitude, or at the very least plenty of dog-whistles like how "fiery" and "hot-tempered" he is.     Do you have any prior knowledge of Smoltz or Matt V showing any type of racism or just making an assumption? By the way you might have prior knowledge. I'm sincerely asking.     I don't know why because he's a fine back of the rotation pitcher, but I don't like Hammel the way many on here don't like Lackey.

    Those percentages make me sad. It again makes me realize that the chances of winning it all even in a year where over 162 we are the best are still not great. Even the best odds still have it as a 70 percent chance of not winning it. I want to win it all really bad. I just do.

    Now that I saw the Russell catch, I can confirm that the "popped out to shortstop" on GameDay really doesn't do it justice.

    I'm guessing he didn't get as much interest as he thought he was going to get. If I were him I'd beg a contender to sign him to a minor league deal with a 40 man slot just to have the chance to pitch in October. With someone like Pap with little left to prove, I'm thinking that he has his own short list of teams that he'd want to pitch for- probably the usuals (Cubs, Red Sox, Dodgers,) and none have shown interest. I mean if we were going to sign him, it would have been when Rondon and Strop went down. I think some of you guys are reading this situation wrong. The Red Sox have been very clear about their interest in him.

    Hopefully this is a nice learning experience for a young guy. Just examining the situation before the pitch and thinking about where he should throw with where his teammates are postioned and who is running and all that. The biggest win was Edwards getting out of it and then when things unraveled not letting it get to him.
