  1. Dexter Fowler becomes the first player of any color to hit a World Series home run for the Cubs in 71 years. Cool.
  2. Wait. The Indians have more than three hits, right? I read that wrong, I'm sure.
  3. I'm not sure it's burning him. He will be back out there again tomorrow and probably be effective if they need him.
  4. Maybe Travis prefers to come in with the bases clean, too?
  5. Perhaps they'd been playing over their heads? All season? No way. WS? Yes. Folding under the pressure. I tend to think more just going through bad slumps and pressing. But not sure it's because of the pressure. These dudes have done some big-time things in some huge pressure-packed games during this playoff run. Javy and Willson trying to play hero is a lot different than Javy and Willson being overcome by this stage.
  6. Not saying it will happen, but the Cubs coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series does seem like the appropriate way to cap off this season and make the 30-for-30 even better.
  7. He helped get us to the World Series. That was worth Gleyber. The Cubs making it to the World Series isn't as good as winning the World Series, but it does so much to change the franchise going forward.
  8. Cubs choke? Nah. Not directed at you, but I had just assumed that this narrative would have died with us getting to the World Series. It has not. That makes me disappointed.
  9. A Rizzo homer ties it up and then we can dominate the rest of the series.
  10. Plus, this is a team thing tonight. Lackey isn't pitching well and early on the defense not only hasn't helped, they have been a huge part of the problem.
  11. It would be cool for guys to run out of the box hard every single time, but that won't ever happen. It's come up a few times this postseason, probably because every play is magnified. Willy had a double instead of a triple because he didn't run, Javy still had a double but almost got a concussion because he didn't, and some people think Jorge could have gotten an inside-the-park home run even though he probably couldn't have.
  12. Not that this was your point, but those awards are voted on right after the regular season so he might still get it.
  13. Same I'd be down with that, but Jansen is going to get big money no matter who he signs with, so my guess would be that he will want to go to a team where he is the closer. And I just can't imagine Chapman being willing to go to the setup role. If it's one guy I pick Jansen even with giving up the pick.
  14. I feel the board is too tense. It's fine. We seem to be in a good position to win. If we don't, we don't. But the position at the top of the 5th looks favorable. Ninnies.
  15. A guy would get one swing before being told it was time for the other team's batting practice to start.
  16. Watching with mute on, do Buck and Smotlz sound sad?
  17. I know others have mentioned it.............but did banning that one guy somehow do something for the offense? Way too coincidental?
  18. I'm trying to decide whether i think that matters anymore.
  19. This is the inning it all turns around for the Cubs in a good way.
  20. If the Cubs end up losing the series I'm going to contend that Vegas had something to do with it considering sports books said they'd lose a lot of money if the Cubs won it all.
  21. The Cubs didn't take advantage of Maeda nearly as much as they should have. You guys are so picky. Oh we only got 3 runs in 4 innings boo hoo. That's an ERA of like 6.30 Yeah, I forgot about Maeda. I think that we didn't do anything until the 8th inning of that game after he came out sort of blended in.
