  1. Before anyone says it could have been a two-run home run, a reminder that pitch sequence could have been different and it could have been a double play.
  2. While this is true, we all know it happens at times in the first inning. We shall see if he settles in now.
  3. I've got Rizzo doing it. Either one is fine, though. I'm not picky. That right there showed that it's gonna have to be Schwarber. He's the only human being capable of it. Yup. Although I will admit even with the wind, I got excited.
  4. It's a pitcher's night, but still a hell of a performance by Lackey. Let's get him a win this inning.
  5. It sometimes feels like the non-talent hate reason makes people also think he sucks as a pitcher. But that might be the emotions of game threads. Oh, well. No biggie. Helped us win a World Series and is on a short-term contract. It's all good.
  6. Never mind It's OK. People love to hate him. Great signing by the front office. Has been super solid.
  7. Here's a question I started pondering as I watched Willson gun down guys and play great defense last night. What happens if he gets hurt? As much as it's overblown, would a Lester-Montero tandem be disastrous or nah? Do we have a defensive-minded, good-armed catcher in the minors?
  8. I know others have said it......but why do you pitch to both KB and Rizzo? That's just stupid.
  9. He looks like he's trying not to over-throw, to me. And the command of his curve has been quite good. Yeah, I've got no issues with what I'm seeing. He's pitching well. He made one mistake at a bad time. But, he's pitching really well. His stuff is probably still filthy, even at 91-92. And maybe him taking a little off will allow him to regain his command, without losing much of his nastiness. Hell, Kyle Hendricks can do it throwing 82 mph. So I'm not super worried about it. But, he's a guy that been injured before, has unorthodox mechanics, has had trouble with his mechanics (last year), now is showing a drop in velo (even if it's due to trying to fix the mechanical issues), he's been bad in the past. It seems like too many red flags, long-term. He's not a Jon Lester that you just plug in and not worry about. There's always something that feels like it could unravel at any moment. So, you take his best seasons, which were some of the finest seasons in franchise history. And then you let someone else worry about all the rest when he is old and getting paid a trillion dollars. I'm pretty confident this has been Theo's plan the whole time. The front office gives lip service about being interested in locking him up, but that's about it.
  10. Is this a great matchup for Heyward? Can't imagine Davies is a dude who can give him problems with velocity.
  11. My only weak guess is that then Kyle for sure got to get an at bat against this scrub.
