    Seriously, we got a 2nd very, very good prospect in that deal. I'm a little surprised he didn't make MLB's top 100 mid season list last night. Then again, we're so stacked, he probably fell thru the cracks. Great plate discipline for a 19 year old at High A I'm guessing he has a bad approach and character issues until the analysts have time to catch up in the offseason.

    Also, their Cubs top 20 has some very terrible choices. Almora ahead of Soler, Vogelbach and Candelario ahead Tseng, and Blackburn making the list over Underwood is one that really shows that not much research went into this. I don't know how anyone paying attention this year could have Blackburn over Underwood, he has better stuff, much higher upside, and better numbers. EDIT: Upon further inspection, Blackburn and Underwood's numbers are much closer than I thought, with many stats favoring Blackburn. However, in the tradition of prospect rankers, I stick with my initial assessment. My sources tell me that Blackburn doesn't hustle.

    It's getting more and more obvious that these lists are not researched very well and they just start grasping at any plausible excuse when a mistake is pointed out. I definitely agree with the people who say Soler will magic rocket up the rankings in the offseason. Soler will keep doing what he's doing, but the prospect guys will pretend he turned things around in August.

    What? No it doesn't. It looks like they might start trying a little and the results might start getting better next year, but nothing indicates they are really going for it. Haha, of course you picked that sentence out and had a panic attack. Take a nap. Just my board mandated apologist propaganda.

    I didn't think so until recently, but I'm definitely seeing the possibility of a Baez call-up. They would be surrendering a year of control, but if you wait till next May to bring him up and then he struggles for 2 months, you're possibly jeopardizing a playoff run. Everything is looking like they're really going for it next year, so if they think he can adjust to major league pitching in the same timeframe he's adjusted to other leagues, you're looking at a year of service time vs. a year of contention. I can see it going either way.

    I remember him hitting several huge bombs during bp before a game in Cincinnati. It made me like him a lot.

    At best, he's in the very end of my top 20. Definitely not top 15. Barely top 30 for me. even with his last couple months? the turn-around's been pretty staggering. He's right at 30 for me. He only has a .669 OPS in July and has only really had one good month this year (with a decent April).

    He's struggling to get his OPS to .700 in A+. He's in danger of Schwarber's BA being higher than his OPS. Soler's OPS is more than double his.
