Yeah, protesting for a suspension is completely reasonable, but trying to get a forfeit? I thought there was nothing that would make me want the Dodgers to win the division, but the Giants found a way.
You realize those two pitchers are nothing alike, right? They both looked great at first then sucked. So not totally unlike. Hill was awful his first 2 months.
Is it? Or is that what you want to see? I said in this thread that I'd put Jackson in the pen. But it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. 2 of the 3 that would likely take Jackson's place are getting starters innings. Turner has plenty of ML starts to evaluate, hence the claim. Yes to both.
who do they "need" to get starts that is not getting them? Doubront, Strailey and Turner. 2 of them are getting starts in the minors. Turner is 23 and has plenty of time to get starts. I think the point is that it's more useful to get a look at these guys in the majors than it is to keep trotting Ed Jxn out there.
1.5 for Hendricks, Turner, Straily, Wada, and Doubront? I take over. I think Hendricks and Turner would both be penciled in right now with the other 3 fighting for the last spot with a few other guys.
who do they "need" to get starts that is not getting them? Straily, Turner, and Doubront are all 2015 rotation options that are not getting starts right now.
I definitely agree with you. It's ridiculous of David to suggest that this is a sure sign they're signing Castillo. And Kyle suggesting this means Baez will be called up? I mean, HELLO! He's already in the majors! Thank you for providing some level-headed analysis in this sea of fatuity.
I'm guessing they bring Olt back up in Sept and hope he plays well enough that someone will be willing to trade for him, or maybe accept him as a secondary piece in a trade for a pitcher. Even if he does become acceptable in the majors, we won't have room for him as a starter. His ceiling isn't much higher than what Valbuena is already doing.
I think Bryant will have a .900+OPS next year. We just have 2 more other-worldly prospects without his K issues. Currently, in all of baseball there are 8 guys with a .900 OPS. One more at .899. So...I sure hope you're right. It's just how consistent he's been, without needing any time to adjust to new levels. In his year and a half he's been through every level (except his 2 games in rookie league and skipping A) with a 1.100 OPS. It's bonkers.
I wanted to live in a world where Jaxon had a string of starts good enough that some desperate team (Yankees/Dodgers) would take most of his salary. He fails even at that.
