  1. And he's white They all look alike anyways
  2. Wisconsin recruit Sam Dekker made the u18 USA team this week and is playing in a tournament in Brazil for them now. I think it's safe to say the Badgers haven't had a recruit like him in a long time, if ever. Here's an article on him http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2012-06-12/wisconsin-freshman-sam-dekker-to-make-an-instant-impact-in-big-ten
  3. Seems like Byrd might be an ok fit for the Pirates, they've been awful offensively all year (I know Byrd has as well) but he could be a cheap flier to take and see if he can regain some of his success from the last 3 years.
  4. I'd put Matt Ryan in there in place of a couple of the guys you mentioned, like Vick, E. Manning or Romo. But pretty much in agreement with the rest. Outside of the clear top 3 (Brees, Rodgers, Brady in whatever order you want) I think spots 4-10 can be organized a lot of different ways with the group of guys from Peyton, Ben, Rivers, Vick, Eli, Cutler, Romo, Newton, Ryan and I could even see an argument for guys like Schaub/Dalton/Luck/Stafford being somewhere towards the end.
  5. They will lose that argument to the lineup every time. Yeah the offense ranks in the bottome third of almost every category and has the 5th lowest OPS in the league. They are the #1 culprit for the hellish season we've had so far.
  6. Law has a names to know for the 2013 draft article up on ESPN today, Insider only. If anyone has access to it can you at least post some of the names (don't need the full article/capsules on guys) would be nice to know who he has as some of the top guys at this point with us likely having a top 3 pick
  7. Pretty sure there was an article shortly after we signed up the new regime that they were implementing an organizational wide video system to record every players ab/pitch/defensive play for scouting/player development/evaluation and they were building some sort of huge video database off of those videos. We were also like 1 of only a handful of teams that didn't have a system like this in place yet up to that point.....
  8. Last I heard, they're hoping to have the financing hammered out in time to start work immediately after this season ends. Hopefully, that happens. Hopefully, but still that puts the 2014 ASG about 1 year and 9-10 months out. Probably not long enough to do a complete overhaul of the stadium (assuming the plan is to basically gut everything but the shell of the stadium).
  9. I coompletely agree with this. The only people who think Castro should move to 3B anytime in the near future are the dumb [expletive] fans and schmucks in the media who think FLD% and Errors are the baseline to judge defense. I don't think there is really anyone on here who wants Castro to move to 3B right now, or anytime soon. He might need to move to 3B once he starts to exit his prime years and starts to regress physically but that's 10 +/- years from now. I know the advanced metrics on defense are still being ironed out and fluctuate from season to season, but are they still saying Castro is playing well above defense this year?
  10. 2016, I think Pretty sure it's 2014 as the Cubs wanted the game to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Wrigley and probably the renovations to the park. As of now the 2014 All Star game venue has yet to be announced. The way I understand it, 2014 is supposedly close to a done deal for the Twins. 2016 is the Cubs 100 year anniversary of playing there, so it became plan B, since there is no way the renovations will be done by 2014. Yeah, there is no way a full scale renovation is done by 2014. They may be able to get some parts of a renovation done but certainly not everything. At this point, since there is no financing set up/exact or approved plans, it might be tough to get the whole renovation of Wrigley and additions to the stadium/area done by 2016.
  11. Let's not get too hot here fellas. I'm all for enjoying a solid win once in a while, but I'd rather we keep that strangle hold on a top 3 pick.
  12. Were they throwing or fielding or a combo?
  13. I love the secrecy, especially considering the fact that our last FO didn't even have single-secret probation: everything leaked! Hendry was fired for like half the season last year and it never got out
  14. Sveum used to be a hitting coach, too. So maybe he and Jaramillo were going at it over differeing philosophies and it was Theo's/Jed's/Rickett's way of throwing him a bone for what certainly hasn't been a fun season for him so far and removing one headache he had to deal with daily.
  15. Anyone know if there is a specific date or anything that the Sox have to call up Prior by or else he can decide to opt out or something?
  16. Nothing more from the radio guys (if anyone is listening) or the iCubs twitter on Rizzo??
  17. Agreed, there is major reason to be optimistic about the future. I wouldn't say the #1 pick next year is "most likely," a lot can happen, I feel prett confident we will have a top 3 pick though.
  18. Hopefully he just cut up/scraped his knee or leg and it's nothing more than that.
  19. Maybe this has been covered all ready, but does Soriano have a full or partial NTC? Or is he covered by 5/10 rights?
  20. They haven't locked up Kershaw long-term yet, have they? I know he still is under control for a while but I would think he's going to start getting really expensive through arbitration and it might pay off to sign him to a long-term deal buying out his arbitration years plus one or two years of FA.
  21. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!?! The Pirates are in first place????? I thought they sucked this year again (I know they were in first for a while last year). Shows how much I've been paying attention to the regular season
  22. Here's what my thoughts are, at this time (assuming the top 10 picks all sign with the Cubs): 1. Rizzo 2. Baez 3. Soler 4. Almora 5. Jackson 6. Szczur 7. Castillo 8. Lake 9. Hernandez 10. Vitters 11. Johnson/Underwood/Blackburn/McNutt I agree with almost all of this but I still like Vitters a lot and I think I'd slot him at 6 with everyone else moving down a spot.
  23. Are you listening to it? I'd rather you be ever so polite and provide a synopsis on here :D
