  1. Who ultimately makes the decision? Ultimately, I would think the player. Guess the team could try and get money back for breach of contract if he would go on to miss time/not perform due to the injury, but that likely wouldn't go anywhere due to the whole guaranteed contract thing and whatnot.
  2. Looks like Kaplan was right, suckers
  3. Who was the other big prospect the Rockies got other than Pomeranz?
  4. No and he doesn't have his athleticism either, and that's not a compliment to Boozer's athleticism.
  5. Agreed, if he doesn't get hurt he probably goes top 5 or so.
  6. The Bucks should take Marshall at 14, assuming he's there, and ship Jennings ass out
  7. Did Bilas just say, paraphrasing a bit, that Rivers has questions about being a PG he had more TO than assists and he didn't get to play with a true point guard and had a lot of spot up/jump shooters around him? Pretty sure if you're a good PG those are the guys you want around you, Jay and you should have a + A/T ratio.
  8. Doubt he gets past Milwaukee at 14, but I could see him going in the next two picks to POR or HOU
  9. Hornets should really take Marshall here over Rivers. He fits with them a lot better, a Marshall/Davis/Gordon (assuming they can re-sign him) core is pretty solid.
  10. Every time Stern comes out an they boo him it looks like he's about ready to flip the crowd the double bird and go into expletive laden tongue lashing
  11. He's on the verge of not even being considered a prospect anymore, imo. That's silly, he can still fall back to the bullpen and be a legit prospect a la Alberto Cabrera. He isn't a top 15 prospect for me right now, though. I worded that wrong, I'm starting to not consider him an impact prospect anymore. He certainly could turn into a solid 7/8th inning guy, but guys like that aren't usually top 10 or even 15 in a system.
  12. The family death stuff should have been off limits. At least cut off Bilas' and the rest of the casts microphones over the loudspeakers when they start talking about it and just put them talking on the broadcast feed.
  13. He's on the verge of not even being considered a prospect anymore, imo.
  14. The Wizards could/should make the playoffs with that roster this year that they just showed as the 7/8 seed
  15. Sweet interview MKG :good:
  16. Colvin is only a 2B away from a cycle today, the game is only in the 6th inning
  17. Bobcats apparently have 5 offers for the 2 pick and are weighing their options. I have full faith in them that they won't take the best of the 5 offers and if they keep the pick they will end up taking the wrong guy.
  18. I just think you'd never get anything for somebody like LaHair alone, but he could perhaps sweeten the pot for an actual trade chip like Dempster. Agreed, he might make the difference between getting their #6 and #4 prospect or getting an additional low A guy or maybe throwing him in causes us not to pay as much, or any of, Dempster's remaining contract.
  19. I know there is the Dodgers thing wtih Lahair, but Ethier looks like he might go to the DL with an oblique strain. With Kemp and him out, both with injuries that can take a while to heal/are pretty easy to re-aggravate maybe we can get them to get in on Soriano.
  20. Agreed. The states with no teams get screwed the most by the current rules. Iowa, Indy, Oklahoma, Southern Nevada (IDK if it has to do with Vegas/gambling??) all have 4-6 teams they are blackedout from. http://www.desipio.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/mlb-broadcast-map.jpg
  21. There's a joke in there somewhere
  22. and candelario is the best prospect in the system. I'm not sure it's that crazy. He's definitely in my top 10, I'd probably rank him 6 or 7 right now, with a chance to get 4-5 for me by seasons end. Baez, Soler, Almora are 1/2/3 for me and then I think you can make arguments for a number of guys ranking anywhere from 4-10 out of the group of Vitters, Jackson, Candelario, Szczur, Lake, Hernandez, group of the young pitchers (Maples, Blackburn, Johnson, Underwood)
  23. He's played 1B before. One day away from 3B isn't going to stunt his defensive development. Probably somewhat of a pseudo day off for him. Jackson got the night off, Vitters gets to play what maybe a less stressful position, given that there is no DH in this game. Agreed, plus maybe in the long run it might help him get a little more perspective defensively at 3B by playing a different position and seeing how a 1B sees a 3B play how the throws coming over look, etc.
