I don't get it. He was killing them on isolation/drives all game starting from the free throw line area, then once again down the stretch he goes and sits in the corner and tries posting up despite not being a great set shooter or having any post moves. WTF is that???

lol except braun is doing just as well this year as he did last I think it was Olney who wrote an article recently that showed Braun virtually has the same numbers through 50 games this year (or however many have been played so far) that he did last year through the same amount of games. -
Yeah and if he fell because of any contact it was because he kicked Garnett's leg on the way down.

Does he do anything different when he comes out of the bullpen like throw more or less of a certain pitch? Does he throw more strikes? Does his velo tick up? -
If that's Campana in that spot he gets credit for hustling and trying to make things happen

With the Red Sox issues in the bullpen and rotation I have to imagine if he keeps this up he should be in consideration for a call up relatively soon.

:shock: Someone got a logical explanation for that? That entire team got hit a lot...98 HBP as a team. They had another guy that was hit 14 times and three other guys that were hit at least 10 times. so you are saying he's gritty? Team full of Grit and/or Douchers

I really hope Boras/Appel really are difficult with negotiating with the Pirates and it turns into a big mess for MLB and they go back and reconsider their draft rules. Pipe dream, I know.

McDaniel seems to have some irrational love for Almora, I love the pick, but wow. I'd like to know what specific tool(s) he and others are most enthralled with other than just his makeup and other intangibles.

Where would you guys rank Johnson and Blackburn? Could either be considered our top pitching prospect ahead of Wells, Maples or McNutt? Anyone view either of them as top 10 guys (maybe somewhere 7-10?) or are the more top 15-20 guys? I know after our top 4, can make an argument for after top 6 with Vitters and Szcur, it gets a little convoluted.

Is it possible to think he could be a Daryle Ward type? LH power pinch hitter can play some OF/1B and is the 24/25th man on the roster. -
Yeah, he probably should have an off day regardless of this issue. He's been pretty bad at the plate lately. If they do give him a day off, or benching, or whatever you want to call it I hope they tie it into an off day (either day coming off of, or going into) so he essentially has 2 days off.

Punted meaning drafted with no intention of signing them? Blackburn is going to be a tough sign, so maybe. I wouldn't mind getting pick #57 next year. Really wish we would have gotten Weickel. Yeah, maybe they figure punt one of the supplemental picks by taking a guy who is known to be a tough sign and requite over slot to keep so it doesn't seem like an obvious punt and go over slot on guys rounds 2-4 if they really like some guys that they think will be around. If you don't sign the guy, you lose his slot money. The way to punt on a pick is take a guy who is a super easy, cheap sign. Didn't know that, though you were just allowed to spend what you were given however you want. Then penalties kick in if you go over.
