  1. Probably makes most sense to start him in AAA so we can see if he can make it as a starter and it allows him to be pitching on scheduled days and also build up his arm strength along with, what Tim said, pushing back his arbitration clock.
  2. Love it, Ricketts also could have come out and just made this gesture to the Rooftop Owners http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltn098oIti1qmj4ofo1_250.gif
  3. That's awesome, the shot and Lebron doing that.
  4. Assuming he doesn't have an injury/weird [expletive] happen in his personal life he really looks poised to have an excellent season. I almost expect him to win 1 major if he stays around where he is right now.
  5. I believe so, he grew up very close to it. I think.
  6. Yeah, that one is huge. I don't like their proposal, regardless of the terrible offer of $3.5mm a year, it looks crowded and will be distracting to have all those different screens flashing different ads/promotions/etc. all the time. 2-3 well placed LED boards (with spots around them for print/permanent ads) from LF to RF at the back of the bleachers, upgrading the scorebard area with more ads/and smaller LED board(s), adding a LED board in the LF well like in RF and upgrading/adding LED boards in the concourse and upper decks is what should be done, imo. If the rooftop owners get too stupid I'd love to see Ricketts put up two boards in LF and RF that rival the ones at Jerry World.
  7. Tiger is on [expletive] fire. Last 4 holes, birdie, eagle, birdie, par. -6 on the day, -10 overall and in first place. Has 6 holes left on the round for the day.
  8. Reminds me of the Hawks logo http://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/220/full/urr58v2su577e7eqwzkztoccd.gif
  9. If the organization is looking to improve efficiency, the team physical process is a good place to start. Pretty sure they're looking for inefficiency. Flipping the bird to MLB roster rules is apparently an exploitable inefficiency. It's simultaneously annoying and admirable. The Cardinals have been exploiting this inefficiency for years, they seemingly always have an active roster of 30 and a 50-man roster.
  10. I wonder if there is any sort of buyout/early termination clauses (for a cost obviously) in the contract with the rooftop owners on the Cubs side?
  11. Yeah, he did. Bruce Drennan had a massive rant about him around the time he left the Indians organization. Enjoy :D
  12. $3.5mm a year for 20 years is nearly as ridiculous of an offer as the Red Sox asking for Castro/Garza for Theo.
  13. Treymon, can we get another photoshop thread on the negotiations of this once it's figured out with Ricketts/Theo/Clown v. Tunney/Wrigleyville/Roof Top Bleachers/Guys that think the Cubbybear is a reason we have the Cubs/Sullivan joking about the additional reveunes and then signing Hairston? Pretty, please?
  14. Of course they are taking part in it if they are trying to work with the Cubs to reach a compromise. It is the Cubs who are seeking ways to put up signage...... Rahm is just offering them a small cut of the revenue to grease the wheels. Inside the park though, right? That's why the rooftop owners started complaining about losing their views and it being a "residential neighborhood" and why this, this and that couldn't happen before the Cubs fixed/improved this that and this because it's "residential." This is a proposal from the rooftop owners, no? Now it's suddenly fine to put up signs in the sacred "residential neighborhood?" I am absolutely fine with the Cubs either lowering their cut of rooftop bleacher seat revenue and/or including the owners in a small, very small, percentage of new revenue created from ads that may block the views if that's what it takes to get the renovation started. But don't play up the residential neighborhood thing when things aren't going your way and then send out a proposal with signage all over your "residential" buildings.
  15. Then don't play up the residential neighborhood thing and complain about streets being shut down because they are clearly taking part in it. Also, pay for your own [expletive] street/sidewalk/intersection/light/train stop improvements if you are getting in on this additional revenue.
  16. Please don't close the streets, this is a neighborhood. Please let us put up giant signs on the facades of residential buildings, we'd like the money. FFS, what a bunch of hypocritical pricks
  17. The Raiders already have multiple phone calls into the Lions about acquiring Young
  18. Who said that? That reads like somebody else's interpretation of what was said and not a direct quote. "Get-concussed"? It was on MLBTR, I assume it was Towers, Gibson, or someone else in the organization. They are not quoting Towers, they are quoting a writer, Jeff Passan. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/snakebitten--d-backs-make-peculiar-decision-to-trade-justin-upton-s--superstar--talent-to-bolster--grinder--culture-041239192.html My bad
  19. Who said that? That reads like somebody else's interpretation of what was said and not a direct quote. "Get-concussed"? It was on MLBTR, I assume it was Towers, Gibson, or someone else in the organization.
  20. Someone who runs an MLB organizations really said this, in 2013.... Regarding trading Bauer/Upton
  21. People are so [expletive] dumb. Is there actually any reported incident of Upton being a bad guy or other teammates calling him out on things (because I've never seen anything to suggest he is more of a problem than 99% of the other guys in MLB)? Or was it just those weird comments KT made last year about him and his irrational dislike of the guy?
  22. Interesting, I hope they aren't getting rid of him. I'd like to see what he can do with some regular playing time. I wonder if he's close to someone on the team and they told him they have been told they are gone soon.
  23. Haha, that's crazy. But it looks like I was wrong about UCLA. They still don't really play d, but I wouldn't want to run into them in the tourney. Yeah with them being so young it's going to take them all season to really figure it out and they will probably get some bad losses, along with good wins, the rest of the way. But they could end up being one of those 7-10 seeds that goes a long way come March.
  24. Chris Carpenter was DFA'd by the Red Sox, according to ESPN Chicago we have interest in possibly bringing him back
  25. The Bobcats are talking to the league office about getting the rights to the Hornets name
