    Yeah I thought it was either AZ Phil or one of the PSD guys who said Rusin or Raley (I think Raley but it might have been both) couldn't be taken off the 40-man until sometime in ST or even not until after the season started. IDK what the rule(s) were surrounding it but it's right that one or both of those guys couldn't be takend off the 40 man at the time the decisions had to be made to drop guys to make room for the FA additions.

    :shock: I knew he got up high there, but didn't know it was that high. How his knee didn't shatter when he came down and landed so awkwardly after that is amazing.

    Agreed. No reason to rush him, he needs to be 100% healthy once he comes back because either we will look to trade him for whatever maximum value he has at this point or probably be looking to extend him after the season. Side question, I'm assuming Garza missing time last year and this year won't affect the draft pick being tied to him in FA if he signs elsewhere and we make a qualifying offer?

    It sucks that Garza is missing the start of the year as we are a better team with him, but I'm exicted that all 3 of Wood/Feldman/Villanueva will all be in the rotation. At least they all have a chance to improve their trade value, if we were to not be in it at the deadline, we could hopefully flip at least one of them for a Maholm type package.

    I'm surprised they didn't call an and one on his last drive, that dunk was damn impressive though. The Lakers still play awful defense and will have to really battle to the end to get to the 7/8 seed. I was frustrated he got away with a blatant travel on the play where he got free throws (he did get fouled, but the travel happened first). Also, Teague got hammered on his floater. Should have been an and one. I don't see the Lakers making the playoffs still. They keep going on mini winning streaks and can't seem to get closer than 2 games back of the 8 seed. I think they get in somewhere between 6-8 (2 behind the 8 now and 3 behind the 6 and 7). They get GS two more times and HOU once more, Pau should be back soon and for as many scheme issues they have had with him all year he will help. Plus they will get calls in close games down the stretch. Two weeks from Sunday is where they have their chance to make or break the season, imo. The schedule is pretty average-soft (albeit lots of road games) for a 2-3 week stretch they have the following games below. If they can get 6 wins in there I think they are in. SAC @PHO WAS @GS @MIN @MIL @SAC DAL They also play NO twice yet and ORL once

    He's older (22) "only" played D3 baseball in college so hasn't faced great competition and had crazy BABIP's at all three stops last year. .552 in AZL, .400 in FSL, .433 in PEO. Plus his K% increased with every move up. I think he's an okay prospect (at where we are in voting process though) and will probably be voting for him soon.

    As for the control thing, during the Cubs/Brazil game they mentioned Asian teams/leagues use a slightly smaller ball than the one used during the WBC (which is the same ball MLB uses) so that could explain why they had some difficulty with control.

    - Castro has less than 15 errors all season, leads the NL in batting average, shows more power/patience growth hits 19 HR and takes 50 BB - Rizzo has a .900+ OPS and wins a GG - Soriano hits 30+ HR - Hairston is the everyday RF by May - Junior Lake starts 90+ games between 3B/2B/SS/OF - Wellington Castillo finishes in the top 10 in MLB for catchers OPS - Jackson's swing isn't fixed

    - Edwin Jackson is our best SP (puts up 4.2 WAR) - Marmol regains his old form and has 30+ saves - Feldman posts a sub 4 ERA and wins 13 games - Garza has mixed results all season and ends up with a ERA in the 4's and misses 9+ starts - Carlos Villanueva wins 12 games between the rotation and bullpen and is our second best relief pitcher behind Marmol - Samardzija k's over 200 but struggles with consistency, posts higher BB% this year along with K% but struggles to go deep into games regularly

    I was going to say something about Despaigne trying to bunt too. Really dumb. I also love how the PBP guys kept propping up the manager and saying how this shows how much Cuba wants to win this game. Abreu looked good in the at bat right before Despaigne. Loved that swing. Ha, yeah. Meatballery at its finest there. I agree Abreu has a good looking swing, definitely seems like he would be a legit MLB prospect.

    Not terrible taking everything into account. If they got snowed out yesterday I have to imagine it was below 40 degrees at game time and not ideal conditions.

    Up by 2 with no outs in the 6th is an interesting time to have Cuba's single season HR record holder attempt a sac bunt. Kevin Towers and the D'backs are probably loving it though.

    What was the context of the question? Better right now (he's 4-5 years older than Soler)? Or better prospect/higher mlb ceiling?
