  1. It's going to be a beautiful thing watching them embarrass Henderson and the rest of the douchers on Ole Miss
  2. Yeah but having real umpires keeps the sanctity of the game, didn't you guys feel more pure watching the human element play a role?
  3. Patriots have Adrian Wilson, John Abraham and Dwight Freeney all visiting today. Those wouldn't be bad additions..... 5 years ago.
  4. I don't like that either. That's almost more of an instinct thing than actually trying to cause injury. Maybe 5-10% of the time a guy lowers his shoulder/head is he doing it to intentionally initiate contact. Most of the time, imo, it's instinct, if you have a guy running at you while you are running at him it's natural to get lower in anticipation of contact. It's not a natural instinct to try and stay running straight up, there is just as much risk of an injury in that case (if not more) imo. Plus you put refs in a situation where they have to interpret something and get into grey areas, definitely isn't a rule that's black or white.
  5. Sounds like the Jets have interest in bringing him in
  6. Agree. There's an argument to be made for what end of the spectrum you think is most importand for your players to be on between "chillax" and "emotional" or "Super High Strung" and I'd guess most prefer guys to be somewhere in the middle with a mix of both.
  7. To me, personally, it isn't something I'd perceive as a negative on a potential prospect. I was just throwing out the question as to what people think the FO would think/grade someone like that with the heavy talk last year about good makeup guys, hard workers, polished/professional/good character players, etc. A lot of great players have similar laid back makeup, but maybe the FO views makeup like this as something that could be a roadblock in development down the road in not wanting to improve/work hard. On a personal level, however, I do have a problem with someone who uses the word "chillax" in any context.
  8. Interesting (I guess) article on Manaea from ESPN. I wonder how the FO will value (or devalue) due to "character" with all the stuff they praised about Almora being professional, polished, hard worker, etc. Clearly nothing bad with a character/makeup like this but I wonder how our FO weighs the free and easy, laid back character with some of the stuff they have been preaching about makeup. Obviously talent always wins out in the end, but if they have him and someone else equally rated and they are both available to pick at 2 this could be a deciding factor. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/9050726/indiana-state-sean-manaea-steps-mlb-draft-spotlight-college-baseball

  10. Guess it isn't bad for a wrist injury, but still isn't good to see those types of injuries in hitters.
  11. [expletive] [expletive] [expletive], that's in the wrist.
  12. I'd have to think so and probably the long man/spot starter spot.
  13. According the AZ Phil it sounds like Angel Guzman is going to be with the organization as a pitching coach in some sort of a capacity. He said he thinks he will stick around in EXST to work with guys when all the players leave for their respective levels.
  14. I think Italy plays the loser of the US/DR game tomorrow on Saturday then that's their last game regardless of the outcome, again I think that's the case. He'll probably be back in camp no later than Tuesday next week.
  15. Cool story, bro
  16. And white WR's in Denver
  17. Reading the Packers PSD board. Looks like Stephen Jackson going there is a real possiblity and there are a few tweets that say he has/will sign, decent chance Jennings comes back as the Vikings offered him around $11mm per and Packers have an offer in the $10mm range (only two teams rumored to have interest/offers out), and Woodson visited the 49ers yesterday/today and it there is a good chance he ends up there.
  18. Law's top 50 comes out Thursday even though he's already hinted he has Appel 1 and Manaea 2. But I'd imagine he will have some decent write ups on guys.
  19. He's a Jeff Fisher type of player - insanely athletic. Was Fisher the Titans HC when they drafter him?
  20. I wonder who they are drafting, Geno or Barkley
  21. They could trade all of that, take Geno Smith and still not have a QB. Geno's a nice QB but there's no chance I trade that much for him. If you need a QB this year, chances are you're going to need one again next year - these guys aren't that great. I like the later round QBs (Bray, Manuel, etc) as much as the 1st round guys. None of them are immediate starters. Yeah I don't think they give up what it would take to get all the way up to get in a spot to take Geno. Maybe they get lucky and he is still there in the late teens/20's and make a move. But I think they will go with Ponder one more year, maybe bring in Matt Moore or Campbell for backup/competition for him and then wait until next year to draft one or take a guy later in the draft like you said this year.
  22. Keith Law got a new podcast from ESPN, he tweeted that the first one will be posted tomorrow and that he will do one weekly. It's called Behind The Dish.
