  1. Signing Cano would help get the payroll to near where a team in our market should be at, along with Ellsbury.
  2. Black almost certainly profiles as a reliever once he gets to MLB, right?
  3. So the Pirates are going for a 5 game series sweep of the Cardinals tomorrow. That has to be incredibly rare.
  4. Anyone know if there have been any updates on Soler's return recently? He has to be close to coming back, or at least headed to Arizona for a while, no?
  5. It's almost like Dale is trying to get fired with this move and his recent bullpen management.
  6. Is he really that much more of a prospect than Vitters anymore?
  7. He does have 30 2B this year, more than double from last year.
  8. Haha. B.J. Upton is hitting .177/.266/.300. Sweet Jesus. Never understood why so many on here wanted to sign him. Because he's 27 and was good 4 of 6 seasons prior to this year? Yeah his previous 5 years he put up fWAR's of 3.1, 3.8, 3.8, 2.1, 4.8 and we had a clear opening(s) in the OF.
  9. Based on what we got for Campana, I can believe he's that dumb. He also traded Justin Upton because he wasn't gritty enough or something for 10 cents on the dollar.
  10. Pirates swept the Cardinals in a double-header today so there's that little pick me up
  11. Give me Skaggs or Bradley plus Kennedy and we'll throw in Kevin Gregg's remains. Bradley, Kennedy, and one of Holmberg/Chafin would be what I'd want/demand.
  12. I can't say a guy looked good when he had more walks than strikeouts Eh, he got through 6 innings without getting into much trouble and his stuff/velo looked good. The Brewers pretty much have a AAA lineup right now, however, which helps.
  13. Welp, silver lining. Arrieta looked pretty good and the Brewers are behind us in the standing so any games they make up on us improves our chances of jumping them for draft position. So there's that, I guess.....
  14. Some say he's the living, breathing, antithesis of Wellington Castillo
  15. I think Carlos Gomez with more pop and less steals is a decent offensive comp/projection for Baez
  16. Yeah. Maybe the fact he was scheduled to start tonight and they didn't want him to get bumped back a day(s) making his next start in KC and/or didn't have guys to start in Boise tonight? IDK, just some guesses.
  17. Sveum's bullpen management this year has been nothing short of inept and his job should be up for review because of it at seasons end
  18. Doesn't seem like there is a fit for us, short of doing a deal around Samardzija.
  19. Hopefully the mechanical adjustments are finally working/taken to him. Any reports on what his velo is at/what type of secondary stuff he's throwing recently?
  20. When the heads of SEC and ACC officiating looked at the Clowney hit individually, one said it was illegal and he would be kicked out if that happened this year, while the other didn't think it was. You can review these hits though to make sure someone should or shouldn't be kicked out, right? Yes replay will be allowed to review the hits that could potentially lead to a guy getting kicked out. Idk if replay will be required or if a coach can challenge or what.
