  1. I really like what he's done this year and think he's gone a bit under the radar
  2. Agreed a younger version of Kuroda would be a good thing (and that seems to be a safe comp/floor).
  3. Yeah I'm a fan of his, their offensive change in the running game benefits him more this year and hopefully he stays a bit more healthy.
  4. What did you have to give up to keep McFadden? I'm just not a fan. 5th round pick
  5. There's plenty of things to complain about Dale for this year, sitting Rizzo against the best LHP in the game isn't one of them.
  6. [expletive], you're right. I was not aware he's been that good.
  7. Kiley McDaniel looks like a [expletive] hipster douche
  8. That's a strong team, 8 or 10 team league? Either way that should challenge for a title. Here's my first league for money that I drafted last night, 10 team standard rules (2nd year of a keeper league and I kept RGIII, AP, and McFadden). My big money draft is tomorrow night. QB RGIII RB AP RB McFadden WR Reggie Wayne WR Malcom Floyd TE Jimmy Graham FLEX Sproles K Polish Cannon DEF Tampa Bench QB Eli RB R. Mathews RB R. Hillman RB D. Thomas WR A. Jeffery WR. Micheal Floyd Def a little weak at WR, but Graham makes up for that a bit. Hopefully Jeffery has a big year and/or Malcom Floyd is the beneficiary of San Diego being down all year and Rivers having to chuck it a lot with him being their only WR threat.
  9. You think Starling Marte is a "star?" I think that's a fairly liberal use of the word for him
  10. Gets to face some advanced competition and it's better than not playing at all?
  11. I really wish there were a "all of the above" option
  12. Marlon Byrd and John Buck to the Pirates. Decent additions for them, I guess. Found this line funny in the article.... http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/9605439/pittsburgh-pirates-acquire-marlon-byrd-john-buck-new-york-mets-source-says
  13. Heard that this morning, he's been through a lot of [expletive] the last few years. Pretty sure he had two really close people to him die and soon after witnessed someone die in a car accident he was in and also had/has to put up with being in the spotlight 24/7 with his [expletive] crazy family and that tv show. Hopefully they can get him the appropriate help.
  14. So who's going to win the NL MVP? It appears it's going to come down to Cabrera and Trout again in the AL. I know it's hard to predict who the idiots will vote for, but McCutchen leads the NL in fWAR but doesn't have great numbers other than BA (.320's) for what most voters look at, 17HR, 70ish RBI, and 26 SB. Votto is having a nice year and is 4th in fWAR, Molina is getting some push but his surface numbers are pedestrian (10HR, 60RBI) he is hitting .330, however, and is 7th in fWAR and he has twtw or whatever. Then there's Goldschmidt who leads the NL in HR but he probably won't get the votes because "his team isn't winning/in the playoffs." Hanley has been on a tear for the Dodgers for a while now but he has missed enough time his numbers probably won't be there by the end of the season. With Harvey going down he's out, led NL P in fWAR, then there's Kershaw and Wainwright who are the only other two who would even have a chance and neither of them probably get there. Kershaw only has 13 wins and Wainwright 15, so Kershaw def isn't getting to 20 and Wainwright would almost have to win his remaining games.
  15. The hell, christ he's a dolt
  16. Probably not a lot when you factor in debt service.
  17. I would think just about anything Dusty says baseball wise drives him crazy
  18. Something about contact rates being more predictive than k% or something like that.
  19. Why are you going to off Barney? WHAT'D HE EVER DO TO YOU???????? Not being all that useful of a player is a starting point, especially when the majority of his value is tied to his defense at a position where defense isn't all that hard.
  20. The fact he's been able to pick nearly 200 innings every year since 2008 also plays into his value, especially with the rising cost of pitching and the attrition rate.

    Castro

Well their "organizational philosophy" includes hiring coaches that look like they've been detrimental to Castro, Rizzo, and Barney. Yeah, well Barney just kinda sucks and never really has been that good outside of the defense.
  22. Yeah by all accounts he's put in work to lose weight, and he has, and is continuing to work on conditioning. McLeod was on Law's podcast a few weeks ago and Vogelbach came up and he explicitly stated they are working on his conditioning and trying to get him to become more nimble/flexible with exercises.
  23. I have both of my money league drafts next week, did 3 drafts last night in leagues on ESPN for a trial run. Holy [expletive] [expletive] are the RB and especially TE positions thin this year. Other than Graham I don't think there's going to a TE who averages more than 6-7 points a week in standard leagues.
