  1. Buxton/Sano or Almora/Bryant? You have to choose a pair. Buxton/Sano
  2. I wouldn't put it past Talib, yet this game, he still has 3+ quarters.
  3. Tim Hudson signs a 2 year $23m contract with Giants, Skip Shumaker signs a 2 year deal with the Reds
  4. I'd take Buxton over either of Javy or Bryant but I'd take both Javy and Bryant over Sano
  5. Is there a belief she's good looking in any setting?
  6. Any players out there that may not get protected/are needed to be protected that if they become Rule 5 eligible you guys would be particularly interested in from other teams?
  7. Well that's positive. I guess that should open up another spot on the 40-man roster. Decisions on who they will protect are due Wednesday. If they cut Bard, they will have 4 open spots. Are there even 3, let alone the 4 cutting Bard would give, guys that are worth protecting? Alcantara is really the only guy I see worth putting on the 40-man to protect. I agree we could open up a spot for the sake of opening one up (for a FA/Trade add) by cutting Bard to remove him from the 40-man and then sign him to a minor league deal (doubt anyone claims him).
  8. Aside from the little action on the trade fronts, I think a reason we aren't seeing a bunch of FA movement is that FA/Agents know teams are sitting on/making more money (the $25mil extra from TV revenue they all got, etc.) so they are asking for what teams feel are unreasonable contract demands so it's just a waiting game to see who blinks first. But like every year once a guy or two signs and sets the market at their respective positions/talents it usually unthaws everything and the signings/trades pick up. IIRC, the week to 10 days leading up to Thanksgiving has historically been a period when a lot of moves happen or at least start happening, so hopefully we are on the cusp of a lot of the offseason transactions happening (not necessarily us, but at least across the league in general).
  9. It's not good and the schedule is tough. That said, I think the offense gives them a reasonable chance to get 10 wins and sneak in. Plus I am not convinced that Detroit won't fall apart. Other than the Vikings to close they don't have any games I would give them for sure. I think I'd give them TB at home this week and GB at home on Thanksgiving if Rodgers is out. But I get what you're saying
  10. Mike Smith get fired tomorrow?
  11. Really hard to argue with that, he did say they also had more depth than the Cubs. Which is something I disagree with, our system is incredibly deep.
  12. Redzone guy just said they are saying the earliest the game will resume is an hour, but could be longer.
  13. Signed Eli Whiteside and Jeudy Valdez to minor league contracts. Whiteside is a catcher and Valdez is a IF. http://fansided.com/2013/11/16/chicago-cubs-sign-eli-whiteside-jeudy-valdez-minor-league-deals/
  14. Yeah, obviously didn't mean a 1 for 1 swap but he could be the key piece being sent there on our side.
  15. Yeah, saw that post. Said we approached them about Trumbo but that went nowhere. Guess he would've played LF? Also said he's heard Kendrick and Richards names involved. Wouldn't mind adding either of those two guys, always have liked Kendrick. Bourjos would be a nice addition to the OF rotation. Any ideas what the Angels need/would be wanting to acquire? Well, he said Kendrick and Richards had been discussed. I didn't take it to mean in a Bourjos deal. My guess is Angels inquired on Shark and that's where they came up. Angels want SP supposedly for either Trumbo or Bourjos. That's not much of an option for us, outside of E-Jax for Bourjos maybe? We'd need to bring in someone else, if its true that's what they want. Because they're system isn't capable of getting them much of anything. I wonder if Wood would be in play here (if Theo/Jed feels he's in for major regression and he can't keep his peripherals up)?

  17. Georgia's sideline reaction, LOL. http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/196krqxow7ce6gif/original.gif
  18. Kemp has negative value at this point. Andrus for Kemp would be a fantastic deal for the Dodgers. I guess, personally I'm still a big fan of Kemp, so I'm probably overvaluing him a bit. I wish we'd be looking at acquiring him as long as it didn't take one of the the top prospects. A Samardzija, Barney and maybe someone like Ha for Kemp, Zach Lee and another prospect or two (Tim Federowicz + Chris Reed?) is something I like. If we are dead set on trading Samardzija and really could take on a big contract if they like a guy enough even given the constraints (like Theo has said).
  19. There's a Andrus for Kemp rumor floating around, that's an interesting scenario. I'd want more for Kemp if I'm the Dodgers, I think, and would ask for at least one of their top prospects as well. Their contacts are real similar, iirc.
  20. So who are some of the better prospect, as of now, for the 2015 draft?
  21. That was one of the worst spots I've ever seen. Luck didn't make it anywhere near the first down
  22. Law's twitter has been pretty good over the last hour since the MVP votes came out. Also some real gold coming out as ballots are revealed. Molina received 2 first place votes, the only 2 guys who voted for him first were from STL, another NL ballot (Rick Hummel) Molina 1st, Matt Carpenter 2nd, Kimbrel 4th, Russell Martin 10th and some guy, from Boston I think, voted for Trout 7th. Trout only received 5 first place votes, SMH
