  2. It's been really windy all day by me today around the Milwaukee area. No idea if it's like that up in Green Bay or if it's supposed to last into the night, but if it's windier I guess that at least will help to slow down Rodgers a little bit.
  3. Yeah was just about to start posting some of those, a quick glance at MLBTR shows Beltran, Granderson, Cano, Kuroda, E. Santana, and Ubaldo all go one. Josh Johnson and Bronson Arroyo did not receive a QO. Giants declined/bought out team options on Zito and Torres.
  4. My guide is showing it starts at 8CT and the BBWA are being aired live at 7CT
  5. Okay, Andre Johnson
  6. Well only if they beat Seattle in a few weeks Isn't that controlling your own destiny?
  7. Well they certainly have intriguing pieces
  8. Only guess is Carter-Williams was this new FO's first round pick this year, Wroten was part of the old regime. So obviously they like CW and they know they are going to be awful (regardless of what happened last night) so they probably want to see what "their guy" can do given a bigger role. Also, Wroten played 23 min, so it's not like he's wasting at the end of the bench.
  9. How long do teams have to make qualifying offers to their own FA? Wouldn't FA start after that deadline? If I'm reading it right, they have five days from tonight. So that's really when it starts? Even if you can technically sign guys now teams are going to wait to see who gets QO's and who doesn't, I'd imagine.

  11. Oh shut the [expletive] up Jonny Gomes
  12. Ortiz reached base in 19 of 25 ab's in the series. Also the Red Sox winning nearly takes away all my happiness of the Cardinals losing, I [expletive] hate Boston
  13. I get what you're saying about Shark, but what about replacing him through free agency or another trade? And will we really miss Barney? I don't think this trade necessarily makes us that much worse. Why trade Shark for prospects and then trade prospects for a guy like Shark? He could be replaced with Tanaka, which obviously is just a cash transaction and you also gain prospects out of it while letting the cash be roughly neutral.
  14. They are going to end up with a top 5 pick and probably whoever they take is gonna end up being the best guy in the draft (whether it's wiggins, parker, smart, randle, exum, etc.). The other thing is if/when they blow it up they have some pieces that they could trade and end up with another mid-high first/early 2nd round pick (in this loaded draft) if they decided to trade a combination of Pau, Hill, Kaman, Meeks.
  15. Uh, score consistently? So your plan is for a front court of Boozer and Aldridge? Defensively that would be a disaster. Probably would give up nearly as much as you gain.
  16. Tannehill is also an option I guess. Has put up 10+ every week but one in my league (but more than 13 just twice). Don't mind the Tannehill play, given the other options.
  17. While it still is real flat it seems "softer" than I've seen in the past. Even though there is little arc the ball is not coming off the rim like a line drive that you'd expect from a ball that's maybe getting 10" over the rim
  18. The Pacers are not better than the Bulls. It's really close, I think the Bulls are a better regular season team and will finish with a better record this year but I think the Pacers are and will be a better playoff team. I like starters of Hill/Stephenson/George/West/Hibbert with Granger or Copeland/Scola/Watson off the bench more than Rose/Butler/Deng/Boozer/Noah with Hinrich/Dunleavy/Gibson off the bench in a playoff series where only about 8 guys are going to log major minutes. Again, it's really close and a playoff series would probably go 6 or 7 games. The only way they are a better playoff team is if they are significantly healthier than the Bulls. Rose is looking like a top 5 in the NBA player right now. This team is going to be disgustingly good. I get that argument, but Paul George looked like a top 5ish player in the playoffs last year and Hibbert took a big step forward post ASB and during the playoffs last year and is probably a top 3 center in the league. I think they are a little bit better.

  21. Are we assuming that the Pacers are healthy? Because that's kind of a big assumption. Granger is already hurt. It's also a big assumption that Noah, Deng, and Hinrich stay healthy. But healthy team against team, Bulls third best in East to me. Indiana can play some defense too. Deng is fine. Hinrich...meh. I mean, better if he stays healthy of course, but the starters are far more important. Noah is a legit concern. Yeah Hinrich isn't a huge deal with Rose, presumably, back. He shouldn't average more than 18 min +/- a night if everything goes mostly to plan. Rose should log somewhere around 33 min a game at PG and Butler/Dunleavy will combine for over 40 min a game at SG. Obviously, like you said, great if he stays healthy as he provides some good value but it's not a huge deal if he can't stay healthy. Assuming Rose/Butler/Dunleavy are mostly healthy.
  22. I've never understood this argument. It's not like all of a sudden the AL teams can only have 24 guys on their rosters. This would actually make it more likely that a marginally talented hitter would get a roster spot as a defensive replacement just about every game. There would still be the same number of players on rosters, they'd just be arranged a bit differently. They wouldn't agree to losing 15 job spots that make s crapton more money than some random all glove Rey Ordonez type who gets onto a roster as the 25th man. That and the DH allows for some of the better hitters over a generation to stay in the game longer than they normally could have without it when they no longer can really play a position anymore.
  23. Did Heyman hack ABTY's account and make a post on PSD?
