  1. Festus Ezeli and a low level contract guy?
  2. Glavine over Mussina makes no sense to me as I've previously stated. Switch Glavine and Mussina and my 10 man ballot would be the same as Callis'
  3. How is this guy a real person? He looks like [expletive] Don Knotts http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2013/12/12/images/mlbf_31265505_th_43.jpg http://www.cartoonbrew.com/archives/donknotts_limpet.jpg
  4. Should we take that to mean that they feel Mirotic is going to want to stay for personal reasons? Or since it was a "Scouting trip" do they feel he is going to stay because he needs to work on stuff/isn't ready yet?
  5. I thought he had 2 more cheap years left after this season. If it's only 1 then he definitely should be available for the right package as well.
  6. For the right price I think they would be and probably everyone outside of Butler should be made available.
  7. You have to figure Gay, Thomas and Boogie is a good enough 3-some to accomplish that. Maybe even this year yet, once the tanking teams unload even more guys/start the strategic no plays, etc, they seem intent on winning as much as possible this year/trying to build something now.
  8. Bulls get under the tax with the move too, assuming Bynum is cut tomorrow.
  9. Noah for Perkins and Perry Jones +pick(s) would be a good step towards trying to get inside the top 10 but probably not top 5
  10. How could he lock in a 20k payday? FSU was like -400. [expletive], forgot they were that big of favorites and the money line was that high. He still could have locked in a good chunk regardless. read elsewhere that the final moneyline was -360, so even a $10k hedge would have cost $36,000. Yeah, I think I would have hedged some. Maybe $25k on FSU. Would have at least walked away with $7k. Tough call either way. Yeah you still gotta hedge a bit, especially on an initial bet on $100. You are locking in a huge return. Even if it's only $7k

  12. Bristol Connecticut may self combust after seeing this gif http://barstoolu.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/01/YeahhhBro.gif
  13. Whoever this guy is must be [expletive] himself right now. http://www.barstoolsports.com/chicago/super-page/insane-auburn-fan-wont-hedge-his-50000-national-championship-bet/ Though I don't feel bad since he was dumb enough not to hedge it and lock in a 20k +/- payday.

  15. From 95-03 his fWAR was between 4.7 and 6.9 every season. All but one year under 5, 4.7 (02'), twice went over 6, 00' (6.2) and 01' (6.9). He was inside the top 12 in the league in fWAR all 9 of those years, top 10 in 7 of 9, top 6 in 5 of the 9, and top 5 in 4 of the 9. Had the highest WAR for AL pitchers by both Fangraphs and BBR standards in 2001. Like I said, by my standards he's in. Depending on you standards I can see how he skews towards the hall of very good and not hall of fame. But if you believe Morris, Glavine and to a lesser extent Schilling should be in, Mussina should be in by whatever standards you are using for those guys. Where did I say that Morris, Glavine or Schilling should be in? I meant it rhetorically and not specifically targeted at you. It was in reference to the ESPN votes article having all 3 of those guys with more votes than Mussina. Do you think any of those 3 belong? On a side note.

  17. He more than meets my credentials to get in. 82.3 career fWAR puts him at 19th ALL TIME for pitchers.
  18. Yes, though neither should get in IMO Do you think Schilling or, especially, Glavine should get in? Because if you do then Mussina should be in, he's better than Glavine in almost every measurable stat that's not wins. Schilling and Mussina compare to be pretty close to each other.
  19. And the banner offseason continues. Hope they are all okay and they are just in the hospital for precaution/minor injuries.
  20. More votes for Morris than Mussina is criminal
  21. the cubs current tv deal gives them 600k a game? According to the article below it's even less, though Brett admits it's not verified but rumored. They get $300k a game from WGN and $500k a game from Comcast. http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/01/03/another-team-gets-its-enormous-tv-contract-the-phillies/ yeah, that's more along the lines of what i was thinking. So yeah, we are receiving about 1/2-3/4 less than a team in a market like ours should get. Awesome :good:
  22. Play someone at third that can hit decently and play Valbuena at second. Done. And who is that? The 24 year old prospect, with eye problems, who put up a .302 OBP and .671 SLG in AAA last year.....
  23. It's great to say find a way to limit Barney and his .250's wOBA, but who do we have to take those 500+ ab's away from him that will be a substantial improvement? Baez isn't getting here THAT fast that he will take a large chunk nor, like mentioned, is he a sure thing at this point to do all that much better in a limited/initial call up.
