  1. Brewers/Garza is official. Looks like it's for 4 years $50 mil and a vesting option for a 5th year based on benchmarks in the first 4 years.
  2. If Freese comes back to Earth it will be in Anaheim, not St. Louis. I am aware of that. I was just stating that many Cardinals could easily come back to Earth next season, much the way Freese did last year. Oscar Taveras is gonna be Beltran 2.0, so he will pick up the slack from those who regress and Martinez will get a shot in the rotation and will win the CY Young. While Wacha and Miller continue being TOR starters as well.
  3. According to a poster on Brewerfan.net who has "sources" the MRI revealed Garza has a partially torn labrum and it might kill the deal. They'd switch their sights to Ubaldo and for the second offseason in a row give up their first round pick for a FA (Lohse last year). Idk if I like that strategy or not (giving up 1st round picks for non elite guys when you are barely a fringe WC team). This guy seems to be supported by multiple posters there that his source in the past has been legit.
  4. Jeimer. Also Vitters should be added somewhat soon, no?
  5. Can we trade money this year for money next year when we don't have restrictions and presumably may be looking to go over slotted amount again.
  6. Is he considered to be a pretty good prospect or just a name? He may become my #1 IFA target just on name/pedigree alone Kiley McDaniel said he looks like a high-6 figure guy but obviously there's some time for him to improve. Don't forget the current top prospect for 2015's draft is Mike Cameron's son. That's right, I was hoping that knowing who the top 2015 draft guys are wouldn't be relevant/something we should already be looking at. But unfortunately it appears we should be preparing for another top 7ish pick in 2015.

  8. That seems like a fair description/comp. Maybe Edmonds with a little more speed/athleticism and a little less instinct.
  9. I don't know if he's actually kind of slow or juts kind of slow for a CFer who plays amazing defense Yeah it's definitely relative, he's "slow" when compared to the elite speed guys in the minors like Billy Hamilton, Buxton, etc. But he isn't "slow" in most contexts.
  10. Law tweeted this out, thought it was pretty good. Definitely had some stuff I hadn't heard before about how the original agreements came about. http://networkedblogs.com/T63Uo
  11. Baez at 7, put them on the list
  12. Looks like his arms were fully extended and absorbed the impact. That must have really [expletive] up his shoulders. im more worried about his right elbow, that could have been gruesome. He's out indefinitely with a torn ligament(s) in his left arm
  13. The hell is that
  14. I think his second half/improvements were credited to some sort of adjustment in his delivery as well so it might not just be some random luck/sample but a sign of something sustainable. I think he was opening way up with either his hips or front foot and closed it quite a bit to get back to where he was in Colorado, iirc, Law tweeted about it.
  15. That would be ridiculously expensive, with having to buy not only the real estate but also the revenue streams attached to it. But also would provide the Cubs with additional revenue sources.
  16. Garza, Gallardo, Lohse, Peralta isn't a bad top 4 of a rotation and good enough to be a playoff teams rotation. Obviously assuming health.
  17. A scout dropped a Miguel Cabrera ceiling comp. With the ability to stay at SS. http://25.media.tumblr.com/4695aeff638daaa3cae8b8ccf516de99/tumblr_muzhuo7k1z1slibiio1_400.gif
  18. The 2015 FA market is pretty much a dumpster fire, especially on the starting pitching side
  19. I thought Jeimer was considered to be an okay fielder? I have Jeimer ahead of Vogelbach. He's about 1 year younger than Vogelbach and definitely will be able to play somewhere in the field. This past year they had about the same amount of PA's in KC. Jeimer also showed growth and good power numbers in the last 1/2-1/3 of the season last year while still maintaining good bb/k rates after and awful first monthish. Jeimer in KC at age 19: 572 PA .256/.346/.396 11 HR, 35 2B, 11.9 BB%, 15.4 K%, .290 BABIP, .346 wOBA Vogelbach in KC at age 20: 500 PA .284/.364/.450 17 HR, 21 2B, 11.4 BB%, 15.2 K%, .305 BABIP, .371 wOB
  20. Jeimer Vogelbach Villanueva
  21. This is my feeling too. Not that it makes the situation suck any less or is a defending of our FO, but I think this is a reasonable though process on how the situation went down.
