  1. I have Ingram and Alshon, I won by 3 because of those last 2 TD's
  2. Cutler either said "[expletive] man" or "[expletive] me" before he snapped that and threw the pick
  3. Nobody hates the 2004 team, you maniac. Exactly, we hate Dusty and Victor [expletive] Diaz
  4. Crap. I hope Lovie doesn't decide that offense is important all of a sudden and takes Mariota. Or all 3 of those teams could win a game and the Titans could lose out - that'd work too. Mariota with Evans, Jackson and Martin could be potent. Assuming Lovie isn't allowed to be near the offense.
  5. The Saints [expletive] suck too
  6. Wouldn't mind Josh Johnson or Brandon Morrow in the reclamation/flier sweepstakes.
  7. We definitely should start calling Arrieta, "The Slutter."
  8. I still think he holds more value to us keeping him than whatever he would bring back in a trade.
  9. It's the old Ken Stabler rule. He fumbled it forward at the end of a game, it was recovered by one of his guys in the end zone for a touchdown. The rule has evolved over the years, but that's why it's in place. I get it for the forward fumbles (dead ball/gets moved to spot of fumble if fumbling team recovers) just doesn't seem to make and sense that if it's fumbled backwards it can't be advanced and is a dead ball.
  10. I don't understand that fumble rule at all
  11. I'd be really disappointed if the Dodgers get him over us, we can easily beat whatever they offer. Especially because it's highly unlikely Pederson would get traded after moving Kemp. The only thing I could see them doing is offering to take his whole salary and maybe we'd want them to pay some.
  12. Yeah, Alcantara has more than adequate power for CF. He hit 20 HR combined between AAA/MLB last year that would have tied him for 7th most HR by a CF in the league last year. So if he settles in as a 15-20 HR guy he's going to be around top 10 in HR every year for CF. He also had 36 2B and 13 3B combined between AAA/MLB, he hits for plenty of power.
  13. i don't understand the steamer projections, they seem very conservative to me. none of our pitchers is going to get more than 153 innings? Looking at historical performances it's not a crazy projection for any of them other than Lester really. 153 seems a little low, but I understand it.
  14. or that Jackson thought that he could run the triangle through a player who hates passing the ball Uh....didn't he run the triangle with Kobe? And win several championships doing so? kobe is on an entirely different planet when it comes to passing than carmelo. Yeah, Kobe's first two years in the league are the only years were he didn't average more assists than Carmelo's career high in assists per game. Even when Kobe is/was godless chucking he has averaged 2-3 more assists per game than Carmelo's career high season of 3.8.
  15. Don't a lot of the media guys have an agenda agains Theo's regime because the FO has essentially iced them out out of a lot of info/people they use to have access to?
  16. His AAA K-rate was really bad, too. And historically, high K-rates in the minors are really bad signs even if the OPS is still high. We're hoping that his extremely young age balances that out. I know its manipulating statistics to make me a koolaid drinking happy Cubs fan but what did Javy's K-rate look like after his abysmal start in AAA? I just remember following the ML game threads and it seemed for awhile he was definitely striking out less (not to say he was still anywhere near a good K-rate though). Did he have any prolonged period of a non disgusting K-Rate in AAA? Or, was it more like a good couple weeks where he struck out a little less than usual? I'm completely guessing here, but I think even if you picked his best few weeks of an arbitrary start-end point in AAA he's probably still in the 20%+ range. I don't think he ever had prolonged stretches of even in the teens.
  17. It shouldn't, assuming you aren't blacked out
  18. With the acquisition of Kemp, I wonder if Seth Smith would be available? There's been talk they want more OBP, 13% walk rate last year and 10% for his career.
  19. I would probably do that, if they felt reasonably sure they could extend Zimmerman
  20. Also the cap is expected rise a lot each year for the next few years. That's why Lebron has the opt out in 2 years, max contracts (and contracts in general) are likely going to be a lot more than they are now.
  21. If we're starting in 04', Zambrano, Wood, Marmol (think he didn't suck yet), Soto, Randy Wells had like 1.5 good years, Cool Cat, Theriot probably had 1-2 okay years, Castro, can't think of any other significant home grown contributors. Castro is the only one of those guys acquired after '04. I completely misunderstood the point of this exercise
