  1. I remember seeing Cespedes to the Reds stuff for a while now, no idea who it originated from
  2. Minor league pitcher going to Chicago is Ynoa
  3. Based on what's winning it's clear NSBB doesn't understand great humor. NSBB hasn't understood humor since Da'Bum left
  4. Yeah, he wrote that in his article on it this morning. Owners having to sign off on bids and such. It makes sense, I'd think Jed/Theo are generally given autonomy but on a contract this size I'm sure they need a final sign off. Especially if they are exceeding where they told PTR they thought they'd end up.
  5. Rosenthal just said on MLBN that the a reason the Lester decision could be dragging is that ownership groups are now getting involved and they tend to slow things down, so cue the PTR jokes.
  6. I think he was the first to report Robertson to the White Sox last night, fwiw
  7. While that's true he has declined, I wonder how a reduced work load would help him. Going from 130-140 games to a 110-120 range may help him a little.
  8. Where does he play? Valbuena is already doing the utility infielder thing and as long as Baez is on the team he's going to be starting. Literally anywhere
  9. I hope Headley isn't considered a "big bat." I hope we're talking more in Kemp, Upton or (please, please) Harper territory
  10. Martin got 5/80, is a few months older, both have similar k/bb rates and career slash lines and both are considered very good defensively. I don't think it's a stretch to think he'd get 3-4 years and more than 40 million on the open market.
  11. According to PSD Mooney said we'd be taking back the whole contract in a deal, which would make sense then that the return are some low level/non 40-man guys. Also hopefully a sign we are willing (able?) to spend a good amount of money this offseason.

  13. Jesus, that's depressing
  14. Howry
  15. This sounds cool and hopefully winds up with some promising findings/results http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24874968/motus-global-seeks-to-help-cut-down-on-pitcher-injuries
  16. That's actually not a bad outcome, especially if he can produce at least league average results defensively wherever he ends up
  17. Are you disagreeing that Sammy was one of the Cubs greatest hitters? No, I'm saying that the Tweet reads like a non-English speaker wrote it. Huh? Like Tangled said, that's a pretty coherent sentence for twitter and you can clearly understand what he's saying/trying to get at.
  18. Are you saying you don't think Sammy is one of the greatest Cubs hitters ever?
  19. No idea who was on the ballot, but the "Golden ERA Committee" didn't elect anyone into the HOF. Guessing they are waiting for some of these guys to die before they let them in or some [expletive].
  20. Yeah, their "personalities/talents" are terrible. Amsinger isn't awful as a host and I think does a good job monitoring the idiots. Also, not that I have a problem with him, but Brian Kenny is their smartest and most logical personality and it isn't even close.
  21. If we lose out on Lester and the consolation is [expletive] Cashner, I'll be very disappointed.
  22. Jesus Christ, this Chris Russo "High Heat" show on MLBN is [expletive] terrible.
