I really wish they wouldn't have traded Hayward so early or at least wish we would have decided to go after a bat when he was available. He fits exactly what it seems we are looking for. I would have done Baez and CJ for him. -

Don't mind the idea of something like Almora, Castillo (assuming Ross is as good as signed), and like 1-2 of Watkins/Szczur/Amaya/Villanueva/Jeimer for the Upton brothers. -
huh? Assuming you mean bad? And what are these things? And every time it comes up, it's "he's not worth anywhere close to what he's looking for." "He's not good" "tons of better options" etc.

I'm watching Russo again today, [expletive] MLBN for having him on during my lunch, but he really hates Chase Headley. Every time his name has come up the past few days he has nothing but good things to say, it's almost like Headley fucked his wife or something.

I think we are gonna have to wait 2-3 for Stanton, Yelich and Fernandez to be available. After the extensions all kick in and they go into blow up mode.

Doesn't Scherzer have quite a few less innings on his arm for someone his age as he's only been a starter for about 5 years? -
Almora, Baez, Alcantara, Edwards, Villanueva/Vogelbach, PJ, Tseng for Zimmerman and Harper.

I agree, I'm not going nuts for McCarthy (4 years or more). I'd like to get him something between what Hammel and Liriano got.

What about Hendricks makes people think he's a lock for the rotation/is going to be good? His FB averages only 87 MPH and he struck out like 5 per 9 last year. I get he has really good control, but his stuff just isn't there. He's already been really good. He continues to get results despite the velo. I just have my doubts he will continue to get good enough results to stay in the rotation. I would love nothing more than him to stick as a 4ish starter since he's cheap/controllable.

He's not at the top of my list, but may be easiest to get player/prospect wise. Would something like Castillo, Wood and a not huge prospect (Szczur, Watkins type) be enough for Kemp with LAD eating 1/2-2/3 of his contract?

Giancarlo I would love it so much if he Marlins traded Stanton after extending him even if he didn't go to he cubs. The idea of such a false positive being proven false so quickly makes me laugh. Does the extension prevent them from trading him for a while like FA contracts?

Do we still have to pretend like those last 3 are worth anybody's time now that we have Lester? I still have my doubts that Hendricks and his 87 MPH FB and 5 k/9 is nothing more than a poor mans Carlos Villanueva and not a #4 starter on a team trying to win. Really would like to see us add McCarthy yet at minimum.
