  1. Really don't have much interest in any of those guys other than Zimmerman. Unless they're being given away
  2. MLB transaction tree http://grantland.com/features/mlb-transaction-trees/
  3. WTF does that mean? I'd give him the benefit of the doubt he's trying to say something about preferring AL/NL but he's a buffoon.
  4. There isn't a job on Earth that's worth that You'd rather see Loria make more money?
  5. Speaking of Dempster, is he officially retired now? Has there been any word on if he plans to do anything like coach or go into the media? If we want a clubhouse guy to keep players loose just make up a bench coaching type position for him and bring him in.
  6. Maybe to a team that has a rotation of a lot of young guys/guys off injury who want someone they can reasonably count on to give them 170-200 innings of slightly above replacement pitching? Not that, that means he's worth a lot. But that's where I see whatever value he has is, I guess.
  7. I think his slider ranks as one of the best in baseball
  8. Wilson vs. ARI Romo @ NYG
  9. Really? He's going to get a near 200M deal. I'd be absolutely shocked at anything less than 7/150. Yeah, I think the Crawford contract will be his benchmark and he will probably top it.
  10. Seems like a lot for a LOOGY, who really isn't a LOOGY. This should make Andrew Miller quite happy
  11. It wouldn't bother met all that much if we had to give up Almora to get him
  12. I was supposed to go to Vegas right before the season started, but had some stuff come up that pushed it back to the end of this month. I'm pissed I couldn't get out there to put a ton of money on the Lakers under when it was in the low 30s (want to say it was 32 or 33) at the time.
  13. A quick google search gave me this blurb from 2012
  14. First thing he's connected with in a while, AMIRITE?
  15. I was thinking of a way to change up the groupings, so that wild cards aren't as obvious. Not sure if that's an issue each season unless a power guy misses most of the year due to injury/suspension/etc. Everyone gets A-Rod next year, no WC
  16. The Nuggest FO doesn't know how the CBA/Salary Cap works http://deadspin.com/the-nuggets-front-office-literally-doesnt-know-how-to-d-1659881059
  17. Parking garages
  18. volatile real estate market and the difference in upgrades to the buildings, plus the potential that other properties not related to Wrigley Field are involved? Those are all obvious reasons that still seem like a stretch to account for $12M difference per building (a 200% markup). Height of the market in 2008 until now might make for what 50% difference generously if all else was the same? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If they bought them at the peak of the market and then borrowed against/stuck a ton of money into for renovations it's entirely possible. Also the properties could be part of a larger portfolio of a developer/owner and the $36 mil owed isn't tied directly to the properties, but to other ones and these were used as collateral or something.
  19. Well, case closed then. I have no problem deferring to the likes of the FO's who value this. Especially when they have much better and much more information available to them than we do. Why did Theo and Jed stick with Castillo for three years? All about acquiring specs, bro
  20. Who cares?
  21. We're going to get nothing good again, aren't we? Because we either didn't go an extra year or offer an extra $5-10 mil a year. I'm not saying Martin was necessarily that guy to do it for, but it seems like we'll be in the same boat with Lester, Scherzer, etc. within a few weeks from now when they sign.
