  1. That's what I'm hoping
  2. What a weird play in the Detroit game
  3. Melvin Gordon will probably be a first round pick, no?
  4. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/BooThisMan.gif
  5. Do they think he can pitch?
  6. Law said in his chat today he thinks 1 of Miller/Wacha/Martinez for Heyward would be "more than enough." So along those lines does that mean something like Hendricks + 1 of Almora/CJ/Pierce would be enough/comparable? I know what's fair on an online chat and what the market/Braves dictate are two different things.
  7. #Cansecomet may be my favorite hashtag ever
  8. Pick 1 for my flex in a .5 PPR league: Ryan Mathews Vincent Jackson Jordan Matthews
  9. No interest in Cashner. I'd trade Baez+ for Ross.
  10. Kershaw gave his CY Young interview with his crew again today, these [expletive] guys... http://nyc.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/11/Screen-Shot-2014-11-12-at-6.39.23-PM.png
  11. If it's only about money offer to take Hamels and Howard and their entire contracts for like Szczur and Rock Shoulders then waive/buyout Howard.
  12. Uh, you think Philly would say no to that? I think that's pretty good, if not better than fair, compensation for him. Especially if we are taking back his entire salary.
  13. MLBTR speculates Alex Avila could be non-tendered, any interest there if that happens? He'll be 28 on opening day, is he considered a good defender/framer? A Castillo/Avila platoon on the surface could be decently productive, at least offensively. Avila has a career line of .256/.358/.434 vs RHP, Castillo is at .306/.373/.472 vs LHP.
  14. Quite the opposite, IIRC He had a -.8 UZR and -2.1 UZR/150 this past year in CF in ~500 innings. FWIW
  15. I read a crazy comment on an article about the Cuddyer signing, but I guess it could be plausible. Basically the Mets-Rockies are working on a trade for Tulo or Cargo and they agreed to sign Cuddyer so the pick the Rockies get is part of the trade for 1 of those guys. Again, highly unlikely.
  16. According to MLBTR these are all the guys who declined their QO's, once again nobody has ever accepted a QO; Max Scherzer, Victor Martinez, Hanley Ramirez, Pablo Sandoval, James Shields, Russell Martin, Nelson Cruz, David Robertson, Ervin Santana, Francisco Liriano, Melky Cabrera and Michael Cuddyer
  17. I'm guessing they go hard after Hanley now, it makes no sense to give up a pick and only sign Cuddyer and they are pretty set in pitching so I doubt they go after a Shields/Scherzer.
  18. i don't know where you're seeing this, but it's very unlikely to be accurate per UZR*, he's only been positive once (2012), but to be fair he's never been a huge overall liability at SS, either; in fact, it's probably safe to project him to give back half a win with his glove, which is perfectly fine if he still hits .280 all & all, i'd eventually just move him to 2B if i got glowing reviews on Russell's glovework *fielding bible & totalzone are even slightly less forgiving I'm guessing Fangraphs, he's positive in their Def column every year other than 2011. that's because he plays SS; positional adjustment gives you back 7.5 runs per full season so he's just saying "he's been better than -7.5 as a fielder every year...", which is true of about 3/4 of starting SS I was just pointing to where I thought he got the number from, not that I agree with what he said.
  19. Huh? He either really wanted out of Colorado (was he an anti-drug guy?) or is convinced he will suck in 2015. I mean an additional $6 million isn't insignificant for a guy who may never get a contract again, seeing as he's in his mid 30's and was hurt a ton last year.
  20. i don't know where you're seeing this, but it's very unlikely to be accurate per UZR*, he's only been positive once (2012), but to be fair he's never been a huge overall liability at SS, either; in fact, it's probably safe to project him to give back half a win with his glove, which is perfectly fine if he still hits .280 all & all, i'd eventually just move him to 2B if i got glowing reviews on Russell's glovework *fielding bible & totalzone are even slightly less forgiving I'm guessing Fangraphs, he's positive in their Def column every year other than 2011.
  21. The guys at ESPN that keep reporting this/making up rumors have the same line of thought that idiot Mets fan did when he came here after the Russell trade.
  22. What did they give him money wise? Has to be fairly substantial since he got the $15 mill QO
  23. I am going to assume Puig isn't in play or at least the cost may be prohibitive with Friedman there. But what about Castillo and Almora for Kemp and they eat some of the salary? Kemp could play LF this year and then sign Martin. Could move Kemp to CF if/when Bryant comes up and can't play 3B and has to move to LF.
  24. Because he does/didn't have a regular minor league deal. His call up date had/has no effect on when he hits FA.
