  1. I just think the underlying premise is flawed, that the way to make baseball more popular is to shorten games by 10 minutes. People who didn't like it before still won't like it, and fans who enjoyed spending a day at the ballpark would have that experience cut shorter (for the same price). I think you're making a lot of assumptions here. I don't think there would be the emphasis there is on pace of play/length of games if there wasn't data that suggested it would bring more eyeballs, or at least retain them. I just don't buy that more people are watching or staying tuned in if a game is 5-10 min shorter, I don't care what the data says. It's like the NBA changing the hack-a-shack rule, because "it was boring." I don't think any more people are watching NBA games this year because of that rule change.
  2. Well it's worth getting upset over because it's coming from the guy who runs the league, not some sports talk idiot.
  3. Yeah it's getting annoying and trying to fix something that isn't that big of a deal/broken. IMO.
  4. Yeah didn't they have something ridiculous like 8 Ph HR in their first 20-30 games?
  5. Byron Buxton this year in 182 PAs.... .199/.246/.337 4.9% BB rate and 38.5% K rate 1HR, and he's doing that with a .330 BABIP. He's been worth exactly 0 wins
  6. Is Cargo really that much better than Reddick? Especially considering he's owed $20 million next year.
  7. Putting the logjam acquiring Reddick would create on the side for the moment..... Shouldn't/wouldn't he only cost something like Jeimer and Zagunis or Dewees and maybe throw in Szczur since he's certainly out a spot and Reddick is a 2-3 month rental?
  8. That seems like a touch much. Well part of their punishment by MLB is going to be to set a precedent to deter this from happening in the future so I expect it to be harsher than usual. This punishment isn't just for what the cardinals solely did
  9. I was watching the Brewer game tonight and they mentioned all 3 games this weekend are sold out, so I expect an extremely large contingency of Cubs fans in attendance. Also it would be considerate of the Brewers if they traded Lucroy, Carter and Jeffries or Smith before Friday.
  10. No way to that trade
  11. I hope whatever the Yankees do they trade for A and AA ball pitchers who's arms blow out in a year
  12. That would be intriguing, maybe they see in him what they saw in Miller when they acquired him on the Red Sox
  13. Reyes can't feel good about being beaten.............. Out on that one. I'll see myself out
