I'd be pretty shocked if he pitched again this year, or at least was able to come back effective/make regular starts, his injury needs a surgery to make it right. Rest doesn't help it. Long story, short. I am buddies with an NBA player and was in Vegas for summer league with him 2 weeks ago, we were talking about baseball and Kershaw's injury came up. My buddy said he had the same injury this year that Kershaw has now, Kershaw is working with the same doctors that did his surgery/diagnosis, and rest/rehab/shots/etc. don't help at all, you need to have the surgery to fix it.
