  1. I know the slash line doesn't necessarily reflect it, but Addison has had so many great PAs this year like that
  2. Agree, it's my #1 choice right now and it's not even close. Won't hurt the team at all while he's gone (hopefully he can figure something out while he's out to be useful by years end in some capacity) the move gives Joe/FO time to see how things shake out with guys coming back from injury, how some of the young guys keep doing and not having to make a move now that we wish we didn't if someone else goes down (i.e. releasing Coghlan/Szczur and Soler comes back and sucks/gets hurt or one of the other guys going down).
  3. I forgot about Szczur, he's a perfectly fine player and probably should be on a 25-man roster somewhere. But if/when we are at full health he's pretty redundant/doesn't offer much. Vs. LHP Bryant/Soler/Baez/Contreras (whether it's C/LF/1B)/Fowler all are going to start over him at various positions on the field. He's not all that special of a defender, Almora/Heyward/Fowler are all better and Bryant probably is too, so he's not going to be used for a defensive replacement late, he's nothing special on the bases for late game pinch running that Javy/LaStella/Almora/Russell couldn't give you, Coghlan has more positional versatility as he can play the corner OF and the infield in emergencies, and other than Almora (which it's probably close) and Ross he'd be the worst right-handed PH option off the bench when at full health. So while he is talented and should be in MLB he doesn't bring a lot when we are at full health, it would suck to let a talented, deserving, guy go but I could see him gone if we ever get to full health later in the summer.
  4. That makes sense. I still wonder what happens when Fowler and Soler are ready. I have a feeling Coghlan isn't long for this team. Yeah Coghlan getting released is likely a probable thing, maybe Montero to the DL for a bit. They could really take their time with Soler though and let him play in AAA for a few weeks once he's completely healthy. So it could just be needing to make room for Fowler immediately.
  5. It all depends where they are located, iirc. When the Lester thing was going on in ST they basically said his didn't matter because of the location it couldn't affect much but if it moves/grew it could become a problem.
  6. My favorite idiotic thing to come from there in the past week or so is a poster insinuating we should be really worried about Rizzo's back and likened him to David Wright 2.0. Completely throwing out the fact Wright has a degenerative/genetics thing going on there and Rizzo just swung the bat wrong or sat/slept on the plane funny.
  7. Just rename the Pirates thread, there's no use for it anymore
  8. Not that it overly matters to me, but with Willson not coming up until recently do we get the extra year of control?
  9. Maybe, depending on how many pitchers they'd carry. I do hope he goes on the DL to accommodate 1 of LaStella/Soler/Fowler coming back tho
  10. Appel done for the year with surgery to remove bone spurs, thanks again Astors!
  11. I wouldn't say I'm a denier per se, I clearly get and see how he's valuable as the current player he is. His at bats/approach just frustrate me when a 2-3% increase in the right direction on his BB and K rates could make him something really special and it's frustrating because all it seems he has to do is not be a godless hacker up there to correct that.
  12. Strop, Edwards and Peralta should be good to go for sure
  13. Don't we have one of those playing 2B today?
  14. This Reds pitcher doesn't have a rat tail, does he?
  15. Is Votto that slow, or is he truly that disinterested in the season already that he's only gonna run at 60%?
  16. No. Yankees can eat a bag of dicks in this case. If they want Schwarber I want Betances, Miller and Chapman
  17. A single roulette wheel is not enough to contain Joe Maddon, we need the Joe Maddon Rube Goldberg of 20 sided dice, decks of cards, darts, coin flips and roulette wheels
  18. With Hammel's hamstring/leg issues there's no reason to put him out there
  19. Run Differential Game breaks out, out of nowhere
  20. Heyward had a terrible secondary lead/jump there
