  1. Do it, Theo. 2/35 with a vesting/club option for like $18 mil and $5 mil buyout.
  2. If the acquisition cost is as high as been reported I'm fine with them getting Ozuna who is a solid but not great player. They've proven they can't get the elite guys to come in FA and their only way to get them is either through development (they don't have any KB's, Lindor's, Correa's, etc that I know of coming) and thinning out their upper end prospects makes it harder to trade for impact guys. Ozuna, imo, is closer to the .260/.320/.450 and low-mid 20 HR guy to me than anything he was last year, which is a very solid player but not top tier and also he won't have a Stanton batting around him in that lineup that likely led to him getting better pitches, they are getting him to be their middle of lineup anchor. Obviously I prefer them to keep running out the Grichuck's, Piscotty's, create a player they always find of the world in the OF corners this year but they were going to add a Ozuna level or better bat so I'm fine with this. Also they apparently want to move Fowler to RF, which makes no sense with his noodle arm.
  3. Rockies trying to build a super bullpen it appears. Seems smart in their environment since it’s nearly impossible to have starters be reliable there.

  5. At this point if we are going more bargain hunting for that last starter and out on Cobb/Darvish I’d like us to go a 2 year deal with Wade at a high AAV with some sort of 3rd year option. I’d be kinda pissed with the offseason if we bargain hunt the last rotation spot and bullpen spot, the money is there. It should be used on at least one of those spots to solidify it.
  6. I have no interest in Kipnis either. FWIW Ralph on MLB radio just now said a Schwarber-Salazar conversation was had and it ended quickly with the Cubs shutting it down.
  7. Agree, I know they are hard to deal with but if the Orioles do start the sell off I’d see if we could do something around Happ for Gausman and Britton.
  8. I horsefeathering hope not
  9. The Cardinals are pretty linked to Colome right now. I wonder what’s Davis’s market is with these recent signings? Seems to be drying up. Twins maybe? But they are in on bringing Kintzler back too.
  10. When do we get the new TV deal? After next year? Maybe the just plan to say horsefeathers the LT (not Dodgers level disregard but fine going 30-50 over) starting next year with that coming in to place. Its not that we can't spend that much, its the penalties involved. No team is going 40 over. Fair enough and I entirely get that. Just trying to figure out where we are going with the rest of the offseason and using the LT as a way to figure out the type of contracts we'd be looking at adding. A guy maybe possible through a trade to fill the last pitching spot that was discussed about earlier here that I just thought of is Ivan Nova.... He's signed for $17 mil total over the next two years, Pirates are rumored to be looking to sell (don't know if they'd trade in the division), he's the epitome of a strike thrower, and he isn't overly young or great that he'd cost that much (he's basically Alex Cobb).

  12. I put it in the Winter Meetings thread and it is/was discussed there
  13. I wonder if part of the Angels pitch/reason he picked them was them being on the forefront of the PRP shot treatment since I think Richards was the first MLB pitcher to get that.

  15. Would think we are targeting a more durable option for the 5th spot? I was thinking maybe a shorter term option is on the table, now that I look at the rentals Corbin is the only name that would conceivably make sense. Got it, yeah duh. I should’ve gotten that. Maybe Chacin, Feldman, or Hellickson as FA. I guess the Harvey rumors may have some merit then if this is the route too. Maybe one of the Braves guys that has some options left?? Overall though don’t like this route and would like to have a little more certainty.

  18. Official, so assume the physical looked good
  19. Maybe can help at the end of the year but like it for a 2019 move. Has been with Hickey/Rays since 2014.
  20. Monty wants to start
  21. Think this is our first report of a mystery team(s) all offseason!
  22. I’d rank remaining guys I want as Davis, Nicasio and McGee.
  23. Sign Jay, Jackson, Gomez, or Dyson. Rotate one of those guys with Almora and Heyward occasionally out there. lol - I had a total brain lapse there. I even re-typed Monty, but I was thinking the trade was Happ + Almora. There's no way I trade Monty (and Alzolay) unless I'm then going out and signing another swingman, too. Nicasio, Liriano, Cashner, Chacin, Jesse Chavez could all fill the swingman role. Just going through the exercise of sequence of moves if that is the trade.
  24. Happ, Monty and Alzolay for Gausman and Britton? What are we doing for CF if we trade Happ & Monty? Sign Jay, Jackson, Gomez, or Dyson. Rotate one of those guys with Almora mostly and Heyward occasionally out there. And what does Monty have to do with CF?
