  1. [tweet] [/tweet] Trade makes them better for next year, getting Colome knocks them out on Wade most likely.... Longoria is owed $86 million through 2022 ($94 if they pick up the 2023 option) and he's already in his age 32 season coming up. He’s more name than actually good anymore. Still solid but not a superstar.
  2. GRB seems pretty convinced they are getting some combination of Machado/Donaldson/Longoria/Archer/Colome/Britton
  3. Twins did the Smyly deal with Pineda
  4. The White Sox???!!!???
  5. Kinsler to Angels, Joe Smith to Astros
  6. Also a Davis suitor
  7. [tweet]https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/941078998985117696[/tweet]
  8. They were probably a pseudo Davis suitor if the Cardinals go the Colome route he doesn’t have much of a market
  9. One idea I’ve seen that I don’t mind the framework of would be something like (don’t remember full details) is to cut the league in to 2 groups of 16 for scheduling purposes (could be all AFC/NFC or like AFC/NFC East and South and AFC/NFC North and West conferences combined from both leagues this could change every year) you’d eliminate pre-season and one of the group of 16 would start the season in what normally is week one of pre-season while the other starts on a “bye” then both would play week 2 then every 4 weeks one group of the 16 would have off and it would still be a 16 game schedule and calendar wise takes the same amount of time. So every team picks up 3 or 4 bye weeks, Thursday games could be scheduled off the bye weeks and there would be football every week, theoretically it helps with injury prevention/recovery, and just a few times a year half the league is off.
  10. One less contract option to take from them if a deal happens [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. He’s such a dolt was he the one with the report on anibal sanchez signing with us? pretty insane that that was basically 5 years ago (to the date) It was either him or Heyman with the Sanchez thing? Did we lose that thread to the great board crash? He was the idiot who caused the stir that we went over the LT this past year and then we figured out he either didn’t know how the LT works or how to do simple math.
  12. He’s such a dolt
  13. Let’s horsefeathers horsefeathers up, Theo [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]

  15. Looking at the numbers I’m not seeing much difference between Alcantara and Alzolay other than Alcantara had a nominal MLB stint this past year. So if Passan is right and Yelich is available and Nightengale is being his usual buffoon self even if the asking price is “substantially higher” Happ and Monty seem to be substantially higher than a version of Alzolay the Cardinals just traded as their main piece
  16. Even if he does if you get him for 3 years guaranteed at most and the aav is in the mid-high teens it’s not going to kill us. The upside of a super horsefeathers you bullpen is worth the risk to me.
  17. The Giants are looking at signing Jay Bruce, that seems like a really bad fit but a very Giants move
  18. out of curiosity, who is making personnel decisions for the marlins right now? Idk if the Marlins even know that
  19. Yelich is still pretty good vs LHP, .270/.330/.373 career slash line vs them. Assuming Happ or Almora is in the deal for him just sign Maybin or Austin Jackson to handle LHP to start for Schwarbs/Heyward along with Zobrist and/or Almora if it's only Happ going. Yelich really fits our plan right now, imo. Prime years, controlled, can be the "leadoff guy" and plays good defense.
  20. They really aren't that young outside of Arcia, Hader and Philips/Brinson. All the guys that carried them last year were older and had career years (Anderson, Davies, Shaw, Santana, Thames, Sogard, etc) most are big regression candidates for me personally. Holy horsefeathers. Cubswin and Cubswin11 are two separate posters. I thought you were arguing with yourself for a second. I promise you I don't have a Peterman situation going on here
  21. No. Almora AND Happ and Monty may be a start, but even that can get blown away by other teams. Two things: Yelich is better than Ozuna and has a better contract situation, The Marlins don't need to trade Yelich at this point. They'd be smart to hold out for a HUGE package for Yelich. I mean Happ and Monty plus a decent prospect is a pretty good haul. Happ hit 24 HRs as a 22 year old rookie, is a switch hitter and has positional versatility. If he wasn't called up last year or didn't lose prospect status he'd probably be a top 10 overall MLB prospect, Monty is a controllable starter for 4 years who's had major league success. Throw in Ademan or Alzolay and then a 4/5th OF type like Zagunis, that's a pretty strong offer. I'd expand it to Javy, Happ and Monty and we get Starlin back if that's what it took. I love Yelich.
  22. Sounds like Piscotty is going to the A's
  23. Almora or Happ and Monty (if he wants to start/they need starters this year) then a minor leaguer or two (Alzolay, Ademan, Zagunis) get it done? I want Yelich bad.
  24. Milwaukee is still trash and they'll prove it by winning 77ish games this year. Maybe. Maybe not if they acquire Archer or Cole or someone like that. Regardless of their win total in 2018, they're still young and improving. They really aren't that young outside of Arcia, Hader and Philips/Brinson (and they don’t have a KB or Rizzo on the roster or in the minors coming). All the guys that carried them last year were older and had career years (Anderson, Davies, Shaw, Nelson who is already hurt and out for a good chunk of the year, Santana, Thames, Sogard, Braun is a year older, etc) most are big regression candidates for me personally.
  25. Lol, Pham is going to go the way the rest of their one year pixie dust guys go. He also may not be able to see come the start of the season with that eye degeneration thing.
