  1. Hopefully Happ is gone
  2. Go add Kikuchi with some combo of Correa, KB, Conforto, Nick, the Japanese guy coming over and Rizzo now you cowards.
  3. Bridges played amazing defense on Steph
  4. I’ve been a fan in the past but wouldn’t mind adding Nico Goodrum. He has had some positive DRS years at SS, can play almost every position, and mashes lefties (could be a Happ/Heyward platoon partner).
  5. I’m not the biggest fan of Stroman and his profile and especially how his profile is similar to the rest of the rotation along with the defense, but horsefeathers it sign him. Give us something, he seems like a good and fun dude. I know he’s not the prototypical DH type but if we add Stroman, with the rest of the rotation profile, I’d put Madrigal at DH and Nico at 2B most days and sign a defensive SS (hopefully Correa).
  6. Nice trade, Marlins
  7. They have really overworked Willy with poor usage/backup plan in years past but this just seems like a move made a few years late. Willy may not be worth keeping at this point with the breakdowns and overuse, plus this wasn’t like the last piece of a contender. There has to be so many moves made for this to make sense. This team is really going to suck for awhile.
  8. Pirates cut Moran. I know Kyle Seager has been talked about as a LHH CIF option. Moran wouldn’t be a terrible add for that role either.
  9. Don’t know if this account has sources or not but
  10. Pretty similar farm too. Tons of depth, but only one guy (Jung) who's a surefire contributor next year. The existing roster is somehow even more bleak though, yikes. Even with dropping half a billion they could still stand to add at least 5 more starting caliber position players + SP. Yeah their offense definitely seems short a bat or two (Nick, Conforto, Taylor types at least) and they need SP. I wonder if Happ would be a trade fit there?
  11. Idk how we even get to a Milwaukee level payroll this year in the ~130 range. Which is horsefeathering embarrassing.
  12. horsefeathers you Jed for not matching or beating that Gray deal. Unreal. horsefeathers this team.
  13. But I’ve been led to believe by Yankees fans and writers over the past few years he had enough value to be traded for Trout, Tatis or Soto
  14. IF true (big if), that changes the market quite a bit I think. The Tigers will probably get one of them (Correa) but who else is bidding besides their previous teams? -Padres, Phillies and Angels seem to be capped out -Mets are kind of a mess but are one option -Red Sox seem to be looking at the second tier (rumored to be interested in Javy). -White Sox don't really have a need for a SS -Don't have a solid grasp on what the Cubs or Nationals are going to do. I'd expect the Cubs to get involved if the market is lower than expected Who else? Jays, Cardinals, Giants? Maybe the Mariners or Rangers. All possibilities but I don't see any of those teams except maybe SF offering a gigantic contract the way the Yankees would have. Wouldn't be surprised if Seager ended up back in LA and Semien back in Toronto unless I'm missing some news. Why are the Mets an option for a SS? They just paid Lindor a ton and have Mcneil, JD Davis and Villar for infield options as well. Same with the Red Sox, already have Xander at SS who was paid a lot and then some other guys who can play the IF.
  15. If Turnbull is odd man out I wouldn’t mind trying to trade for him. Always have liked him. As TT pointed out about their position player WAR maybe something around Happ for him with another piece or two either way is something that could work.
  16. Especially for the money, Lorenzen's probably the highest ceiling arm on the arm on the FA market outside of like Gausman and Scherzer/Verlander. He's the hardest thrower, best athlete, among the widest pitch mixes, manages contact well, and healthiest...Compare/Contrast to Jon Gray, who's fastball is down a tick from peak velocity, lower between the two by 2 MPH, doesn't haven't a standout secondary (does try 3, the slider's not bad, changeup's terrible), doesn't manage contact well (does get some GBs),and is very mediocre when you asked to throw more than 150 innings anyway, but will get maybe 2-3x the contract on the assumption he'll get better Lorenzen is 30, hasn’t thrown over 80 IP since 2015 and has just over 50 combined the last two years. Never really has gotten any special results. Career ERA/FIP/xFIP all in the 4s (over 5 as a starter with a .360+ wOBA against, k/9 in the 6s, K% around 15% and BB% around 10%) why he’d be expected to be good for ~170 innings as a SP I don’t get. If he has 5 good pitches he certainly hasn’t implemented them in to results as a SP, RP or swing man. Just don’t get why he’s interesting other than he’s a good athlete who can throw hard but never has gotten results. The Reds have also had some of the best pitching infrastructure over the years he’s been there. Moneyball gif but with pitching. If he’s so good at pitching why doesn’t he pitch good?
  17. Lorenzen horsefeathering sucks, hard pass.
  18. On the bright side, maybe there was an explanation for why he was so terrible last year. Pretty sure the injury ended his season and he was just bad prior to it. He separated his shoulder on a dive or slide and was done from May on. Don’t think this was a lingering thing.
  19. Bote just had shoulder surgery from his injury in May, I doubt anyone is trading for him until he can prove he’s healthy.
  20. Give him whatever it takes with no QO attached.
  21. While I believe they got him to be part of the 2022 rotation he also isn’t a terrible trade piece if they do a MLB for MLB deal (with other parts) to net out salary. In say a Hosmer type deal or whatever.
  22. I saw 2-3 national games on ESPN on the schedule. None on TNT if I remember correctly. Aren't national games predefined before the season? I don't think you can flex the Bulls in like NBC does late in the season on SNF. I think games are pretty fixed through the Christmas Day (maybe even the ASG) games but I think there’s some maneuverability after that.
