I'm not convinced at all he'll be successful at it, but I am certainly convinced he should be given the chance. I couldn't agree more. I'm very worried by the fact that Colvin strikes out a ton, but he has shown much more power than I expected and he should be given a chance to prove whether he can perform well over an extended period of time. Even though he has been striking out a good amount, he has shown an ability to still take a walk and work a count which is something that his career minor league numbers wouldn't have predicted. I wouldn't exactly say he's shown an ability to take a walk. It's not wretched, but he's not walking much. He's not walking at Barry Bonds rates, but 11BB in 130PA for him isn't all that bad considering he literally never walked in the minors. Given a full season of ab's he is on pace for around 50BB which isn't horrible.
